Should I be concerned about these piston tops (all look the same) ? Tops are wet from spraying with Kroll. Pulled the head cause the engine won’t budge. Plan to get it to turn by hitting the piston tops. If that fails guess I’ll pull the pan.
noticed a lot of carb rebuild kits on various sites. Any preferences on which are best? I really want to send mine out to Jim C, but I haven’t heard back from him. I know he is very busy. Also, do carbs vary much from year to year, especially 1980 - 87.
Replacing the carb on my '85 FJ60 and am confused as to how many gaskets go under the carb. SOR (page 42) shows a plenum gasket (91) and a base gasket (90). Should there be a gasket between the manifold and insulator bottom and another between the insulator top and the carb? BTW, what is the plenum?
Seems simple, but I couldn't get the center cap off my steering wheel (1979). Does the center cap pull off, screw off or what? Maybe 33 years of not being removed just has it frozen there.
My truck has been parked inside for 3 years - now it's time to pull it out and start it up. It's had Sta-Bil in the tank, fresh oil change, mice crap taken out of the air cleaner. Anything I should do before attempting to crank it? Should I take the plugs out and spray oil or anything in there...
