I sadly have to report that my LC 80 has now been sold. 😪 Given my health issues I knew it was only a matter of time. The new buyers are friends of good friends, so I know it is going to a good home. I hope they enjoy the unerring reliability that I have.
Thanks to all that have followed...
Owned by me for over 13 years this is no ordinary ‘80’ and it is only being sold due to ill health.
This is NOT JDM.
Please note, this car is originally from the UK and is right hand drive, presently it is registered and insured and being used in Spain, to re-register back into the UK would be...
Whilst working on my 1994 HDJ80 connecting a new accessory to an additional fuse I fitted some years ago, I noticed the flasher unit looked a little out of shape. Removing the unit I found the casing had a hole in it! Given the area in the right hand footwell is full of wiring and other relays...
Hi all, I am looking for a speedometer for my HDJ80.
I know many have bought the almost identical HDJ81 and may have swapped their speedometer for one with MPH instead of KPH as it would be from the Japanese market. My MPH speedometer trip and cam belt reset when AWOL due to me being a bit...

Hi all, just need an answer to those with LHD 80's, sitting in the drivers seat is your OE Ariel or antenna on the left or right wing or fender as it is called in the US?
And as an asides, anyone had any luck with a small roof mounted antenna's that actually work, just in case I do weld up the...
I have not seen this mentioned before but has anyone noted the handbrake set diagram is wrong? The hold down pins are transposed, so note this when reassembling.
I did note this in my Builds - My LC 80 thread.
So if nothing else it is a heads up or a reminder.
regards
Dave
I needed to replace the bushes in one of the rear trailing arms, and I tend to look around for a heavier alternatives when replacing anything on the 80, and given that I would replace the bushes both sides I started looking around for an alternative to the OE stuff, which to be fair has given...
I recently remembered I needed to replace the bushes on the lower arms, some strange sensations occurring when turning left slowly had me investigate early one morning on the way to meet friends on a trail, I found nothing until jacking and checking during some arch welding was needed. So I...
Hi all, waaaaay back someone was looking for the rubber moulding that goes between each of the four arches and body. Apparently they are quite pricey? But IIRC someone found a similar moulding that was again IIRC from another Toyota and was sold by the metre....yard?
I am in a hurry trying to...
Hi all,
I was forced to change my solar panel setup when the replacement rack for my 80 (link in sig) was not wide enough to allow the panels to fit. I have just purchased another two panels, they are slightly smaller. The plan is to fit both at the front of the rack, they will slide out...
Unsure if this has been posted on the forum before but it may be of interest to those being hit by cold weather?
Yesterday I was working on a Renault van, whilst looking around under the hood I noticed a device in the heater inlet hose. It is basically a small alloy block that held four diesel...
About two months ago (Sept 2016), I fitted 4 brand new Yokohama Geolander GO12 All Terrain tyres to my Land Cruiser. A few weeks later I got a puncture in the sidewall in a dry river bed........by a twig!!! Yes a twig, tried repairs but the sidewall was so soft it did not hold the insert. There...
I recently fitted an Albrecht CB into my LC. Great little unit and fits in the space where the ashtray was, antenna was a simple Midland mag mount, centre load whip about two foot long, put it on the left corner of bonnet near the screen, quick easy SWR, just temporary fit as I was pushed for...
As above really. Rather than go blow by blow, I invite you to look here.
My LC 80 thread.
This is my long running thread on the 80's forum. The first post on the page (#301) deals with the first issue, the second post #302 deals with a current issue which is related. Cut to the chase if you...
Having problems finding 285/75/16 BFG's AT's in 'H' rating, as it appears I may draw a blank on getting these, and given that Toyo's are capable of getting a puncture whilst parked overnight on a snooker table, they are also out of the equation this leaves, Yokohama's in that size which I can...
Decided to order up a couple of axles seals, some 'birf soup' showing. I have used OEM and find them OK but fancied something a little heavier duty. Tried to order some Marlin ECO seals but no European outlets and postage has a minimum for around $65.00.
There was another supplier who's name...
As per the title, you guys over the pond got the rear side marker in red, European 80's never did, I want a pair please. New is good, good as in 'really good' condition second hand OK.
Has to be posted to Murcia 30880 Spain.

Dave
Hi all, I need the plug to go on the back of the gear selected indicator on the auto transmission model.
Automatic's are bit thin on the ground here in Europe so I was lucky to get the indicator, no plugs at the moment though. I could solder straight onto the copper strips, but with the plug...
