    Lifetime OEM Exhaust (past offering)

Here's a challenging question for the gallery. Back in the late 90s, Toyota had a recall of sorts on the Land Cruiser exhaust systems. The deal was that if you had the dealership replace it, the work had a lifetime warranty. Mine was showing it's age, so I took them up on it. Anybody...

Thread Specs for OEM Oil Pressure Gauge Sender?

Does anybody know the thread specs on the OEM oil pressure sender? I thought it was 1/8" NPT, but upon trying to install a t-adapter, that is slightly too large for the sender port. We also tried threading the sender into the female 1/8" NPT side, but it is way too loose.

FSM Page for Oil Pan Gasket Replacement?

Hey guys, I've looked everywhere I can think of in the FSM. I see a couple of times that it is replaced for work on the oil pump, but not a specific page/procedure. Where in the FSM is the specific procedure? Thanks

    Oil Gallery Plug Historical "Data"?

I was discussing the potential for oil gallery plug blow with a buddy (not a LC owner) who said that the only time he'd ever heard of an oil gallery plug blowing was during a deep freeze event. I'm wondering if anybody has enough depth of info on the history of these in Cruisers to know if...

    Part ID Help, Please

Me again. I can't identify this part that is just outboard of the oil dip stick on 3FE. It is above and connected in part to a cannister that I also don't know. Is that little pipe supposed to be free...or am I missing a vacuum line? I notice that a bit of oil pools on the lid of the...

Might Be Rear Main Seal Replacement Time?

Hi guys. I've been keeping an eye on a chronic oil leak for a while now. I'm sure the majority of it is from the rear main seal, but the oil pan edge is also staying wet despite gentle snugging. The primary drip is from the bottom of the front of the A440 (not ATF). I see this leak after a...

    A440 Temp Sender Location

Hey guys, were is the sender that controls the transmission overheat light located? Thanks.

    Oh no...dinged my ARB Bumper!

Screwed the pooch. Cut the wheel a hair too soon backing out of the garage, and scratched the crap out of the driver side rail on stucco. Through the powder coat into the metal. I did not wish to learn a new skill, but had to. I tapped my local Ace employee who does muscle car restorations...

    Side Plate Gasket Leak?

Hi guys. I had never heard of the "side plate" on the passenger side of the engine until seeing it in one of the restoration threads. I think I have leaking at the side plate, as the it and the engine are oil wet from there down. Thought at first if might be valve cover gasket, but wetness is...

3FE "Sport Mod" and Tranny Heat

I came across an old 2014 thread on the 80 series forum. Since it was about 3FE "power," I thought it would be good to refer to over here. Tranny heat also came up, so I contributed on that, too. FWIW It includes a link to the heat "fix" from my build thread...

    Compression/Ring Test

Hi guys. We did a compression test today and also tested for change with a little oil in each cylinder looking for a difference before and after the oil. All had tiny or no change. Good news. Low cylinder was 130, two were at 135, two at 140, and one at 145. This is pretty good for a 240K...

Strange Noise in Dash of '16 Sequoia

Hi guys, I typically only live in the LC 60 wagon forum, but... I have a '16 Sequoia that has the most bizarre noise associated with the air system in the dash. It only occurs in the hottest most humid time of the year in AZ. It sounds like a rather loud wild bird call. I'm not kidding. It...

Help Shopping for Flexible Trans Cooler Lines

Hey guys, I've researched here, but not finding the specific that matches up with something at Jegs or Summit. Are the female fittings on the braided lines that we see on products a stardard size/spec? If so, it's just a matter of finding the desired diameter (AN -6 or -8) and something close...

    New GM Transmission with 3FE?

I know...sounds a little crazy, but I've never seen a discussion of this. We all talk about a 5-speed conversion or a V8 conversion. Is a GM 6-speed transmission with a T-case adapter worth considering with a still strong 3FE?

Brake Booster Successfully Replaced in '90 62

Despite new OEM front discs, Aisin ceramic pads, and master cylinder when knuckles done recently, brakes were weak at slow speeds. First bled the system exhaustively and adjusted rear brakes. Still problematic. Brake booster seemed okay until a re-check this week, and it was not holding...

    Ambitious Sale Price

I hope the original owner got a good price. This dealer is rather ambitious it seems to me. https://www.carfax.com/Used-1988-Toyota-Land-Cruiser_z6536

    Towing a 62?

I've searched it and cannot find any info on towing a 62 rather than driving it. I'd much rather tow my 62 over the mountains with my late model Sequoia then enjoy the 62 in the destination region. Anybody have any experience and pointers on doing this? I'm guessing that the only safe way to...

    Knuckle Ball Surface Clean-up

Finally got underway on the knuckles and brake overhaul today. Have some crusty pitting at the top of the ball. That should surrender to a wire brush on a power drill, I'd think.

    Power Window Motor?

Hi there. Our FJ62 front passenger window motor is an aftermarket that a local shop provided. A highly experienced Land Cruiser specialty shop looked at it while it was in for a valve adjustment this week. They said the only problem was that the motor was aftermarket, and that a change to a...

Cruiser Corps Power Window Motors Any Good?

As we all know, getting power window motors is getting tough. My front passenger window labors with an aftermarket motor despite the regulator and lube being in fine shape. @Cruiser Corps shows an after market motor "kit" in which the product description doesn't show the FJ62, but I hear that...
