That great film "THEM!" (1954) was on TCM yesterday. Just wondering if anyone out by Alamogordo has seen any interesting... creatures in the desert lately.
My "new" '96 came with some spiffy-looking aftermarket headlights - which look spiffy but are basically worthless, low-beam-wise.
Now, one of the low-beam bulbs is, as they say in the South, "dayed."
So I'm thinking about yanking the current setup and going to LEDs. I, of course, am far too busy...
I've been outside tonight for HOURS, watching the skies for meteors and what did I see?
SQUAT!!!
Okay, well, there were a couple of small ones, and I was sitting in the hot tub, so it wasn't too unpleasant. But still...
They advertise these things like they're gonna be the best thing since...
So my O2 sensors have to be replaced. Decided to have the Toyota dealer replace them (I'm at our Flagstaff house for a while).
Go over there at the appointed time, hang around for an hour or so, and discover that, while the boxes that came from the warehouse have the right numbers on them, the...
I have a constant door ajar warning light, even when the vehicle is turned off (with no doors ajar), enough voltage to draw the battery down considerably after a couple days of non-driving. Has anyone else had this issue?
I believe we - High Desert Cruisers - should begin to award The William S. Burroughs Trophy each year for the member, real or imagined, who travels the farthest psychic distance on the roughest terrain.
I had to drive down to the Insurance Company's wrecking yard today (Friday) from Taos, to take some stuff off my totaled '97 Land Cruiser. Things didn't go so well.
I couldn't get the LED spotlight off the A-pillar. Took all the screws out, pushed/pulled/turned the thing, but no luck.
I had to...
Donaldson is known for making high-quality filters. I want to replace the simple intake atop my snorkel with an actual filter.
Has anyone had experience with Donaldson filters in this application, and what's the best one to use for an FZJ80?
The best price I've seen on regular gas here in The Land Of Enticement was at one of the pueblo stations between Albuquequacky and Santa Fe: $2.92 per gallon. And $2.99 in Espanola, always the cheapest fuel in El Norte. (This was around Thanksgiving, so prices have maybe changed since then.)...
Picked up my new ('96) 80-Series in Show Low AZ today. 180K miles, triple-locked, armored, upgraded everything, etc. etc. Hope to bring it to the next meeting/Holiday throwdown...
Where might I go to have a custom diesel injection line fabricated?
I have a 12-valve Cummins in my '94 Chevy 1.5 ton 4x4; for reasons that are too complicated to go into here, the injection lines are custom. One of them (number 5) has developed a break.
I can't find anyone to fab a new one...
