    No Hazard flash on 2017

I’m hoping that someone can share some info that can help me troubleshoot an issue with my wife’s GX460. The hazard warning flasher doesn’t work (no response to depressing the appropriate push button). I‘d read somewhere that a loose connector at the back of the radio was the issue with one...

New to towing - does an LX570 need a WD hitch

I’m picking up a Lance 2185 and will be towing it back home (400 miles) with a 2018 LX570. I’ve been learning a lot about what’s needed and already have a Tekonsha P3 brake controller on its way to me. And I’ve never towed a TT (or anything else other than a small car - flat tow). Today, the...

    Front center speaker needs replacement

The sound quality in my wife’s 2017 GX took a big hit not long ago. The distorted sound (high frequencies, but even speech) can be heard from the front but not when listening to only the rear speakers. After some troubleshooting the dealer will be replacing the center front speaker. It’s an ML...

Any recommendations for a high quality cable to use with Techstream subscription?

I’ve read in various threads that one should stay away from those cheap cables on Amazon. Also, I’ve seen that to work, Windows 7 is recommended but that Windows 10 is supported. And that last claim is disputed by some of the reviewers. And that support, or lack of, comes from overseas. Well...

Possible to program transponder keys (2003 LC) ?

I have only one master key (w/remote) and a new cut OEM remote key and a new cut valet key. Is it possible to “program” these new keys so that they can be used as a spare if need be? I‘ve tried different methods but one published one states that for ’03 and ’04, a computer is needed to...

Using 3M vinyl for chrome delete (self applied)

I’m thinking of trying my hand at some chrome delete using 3M vinyl. Anyone here have satisfying results with either some chrome delete or larger panels? I realize that the best way would be to pay a shop that does this sort of work but attempting it myself is something I’m considering. It’s not...

    Removing LX570 luggage rails (2016+) .... difficult?

Has anyone removed their flush mounted roof rails off of their LX570 (to install LC rails or an aftermarket rack)? If anyone has actually done their own installation of another rack, was accessing the attachment bolts from the bottom problematic?

Anyone seen/have the skid plates that come on the LC Heritage Edition?

Are they well made, meaning will they protect as well as some of the aftermarket ones can or do? I’m learning that pre-2016 LX’s have an easier time getting aftermarket goodies that fit. I have a 2018 and am thinking that if the Toyota sourced ones are good, they might fit..... Cheers, John

    TIS and Techstream newbie questions

I was looking for FSM’s for our 2 “new” cruisers (both bought used), a 17 GX and an 18 LX. Soon realized that Toyota quit publishing FSM’s almost a decade ago. I have them for our 96 and 03 LC’s and our 01 LX. They weren’t inexpensive but they sure came in handy when you needed them. So Toyota...

New 18” Land Cruiser wheels for my LX570

I haven’t had a chance to take my new-to-me LX off-roading yet but am looking forward to doing a little soon. Nothing serious but those 21” wheels have got to go. Plus, there are many more tire choices as folks have posted about here for a few years. I actually like the look of the OEM Lexus...

What tread depth is still safe for rainy weather?

I’ve heard that when tread depth reaches 3/32”, it’s time to replace tires. And for rainy conditions, better to replace them at or before they wear down to 4/32”. And, of course, with new tires, stopping distance in the rain would be “better” than if one had tires with 4/32” tread left. Just...

Introduction - and a TPMS question

Just joined. Been in SUV’s (mostly) for years. Bought a 96 LC for my wife in 98. Then a 2001 LX for myself in 2004. Gave the LX to my wife in 2005 when I got a company car. Missed driving an SUV so flew to Salt Lake City in 2006 to pick up a 2003 LC. Picked up a 2018 LX570 back in January...
