Thanks! They're definitely a tight fit. Mods for this are:
1 inch spacers
1 inch body lift
1 inch sensor lift
2 inch sensor lift on back with King KTRS-79 springs (because I'll be towing)
Trimmed mud flaps
Trimmed front bumper
5mm trim on the pinch weld (didn't need to do the full thing)
...and consider what to do about Rear AHC pressures if necessary – spacers, or new OEM springs, or upgraded springs, or airbags (maybe King KTRS-79 springs already are in place (?), in which case expect low AHC pressures and a slightly more firm ride when there is no load in or on the vehicle)...
...over the 24 years, 400,000 kilometres of life of the vehicle. Presumably, the necessary checks and adjustments were made when KING KTRS-79 Rear springs were fitted? If AHC pressures have remained within the FSM-specified ranges, then AHC presures should not be a problem. I have KTRS-79...
incredible post! thank you so much for taking the time to reply! invaluable info. i will definitely adjust the rear sensor heights and do the cross-leveling - i'm guessing my measurements explain why my Front Right tire is wearing so much more than the Front Left!
...specifications.
In answer to your questions, note also that upgraded springs (or torsion bars) with a higher spring rate (such as KING KTRS-79 coil springs) do not increase the ‘ride height’ of the vehicle. ‘Ride height’ is controlled by the Height Control Sensors and the Suspension ECU...

Not sure your ID and length, but the eibach motorsports catalog or the OME spring catalog may be your friend. Find your own rate and length to meet your needs.

I believe, if you're at stock height, the KTRS-79 springs will handle vehicle load fine. They may be shorter, but they are also stiffer so don't compress as much with the standard weight on them. Ditto with extra load in the rear.
But, I added 2" poly spacers to my rear when I added the...
Refreshing the topic.
How come the KTRS-79 springs (free coil height 430 mm) can fit plug-and-play TLC AHC rear coils (500 mm free spring height)?
Isn't it going to drop the standrd height on the back a bit, then?
Trying to get more AHC occasional load here (max +150 kg) so thinking about...

Good question but no, I'm not really planning to build out the rig - mainly just return it to tip top stock condition and get the ride quality like new. The OEM LC spring you mention, is that the LC OEM AHC spring? I'm wondering whether there is a difference between the LX and LC AHC springs...
I know this isn't what you're asking, but do you carry any extra weight over stock?
A lot of guys opt for the aftermarket King KTRS-79 when they refresh their AHC system instead of getting new OEM springs. I did on my old LX.
It's somewhere in between the spring rate of a OEM LX spring and an...
so i figured the car is 23 yrs old and the springs need to be replaced, so I go with the king springs KTRS-79, and ARB OME80PR10 Old Man Emu 10mm bushing (same yellow color ) for the left spring.
will need to read up on tech-stream.
thanks
Suggest best to explore local eBay in USA for the Australian-made KING KTRS-79 springs.
You may also want to try a direct inquiry to King Springs in Australia quoting the King Springs Part Number KTRS-79 and also mentioning the make (Lexus or Toyota), Model and Year of your vehicle. They should...
Looks like quite a few members here using the king springs KTRS-79.
I see them available on ebay with shipping costs of $80.
is there some site in the US we can buy these? thanks
I need to do more reading, and decide rather sooner than later so that i can install them at the same time the arms...
I believe that the flaw in that logic, is that (if my math is correct) the 28.87mm non-AHC bars are ~64% increase in stiffness over the 25.5mm AHC bars. That seems like a rather large jump, but good luck with your experiment.
One of my “bitches” about this platform, is that everyone offers a...
...two softer settings make the truck bounce up and down a lot.
So my thinking here is that slightly thicker springs (rears are already King KTRS-79) will support he AHC through out the motion range of the suspension and not just at the resting height. This should improve the ride and allow me...
Where is the best place to buy these from? Tried a place on eBay and 3 weeks later they haven’t shipped and can’t provide an update.
Anyone have a lead on where to get a set from in the US?
Anyone got a set they aren’t using?
Thanks in advance.
...Body+bumpers+suspension all stock, AHC intact, except:
