This thread is my build thread for my second dune beige fj45 swb pickup. I’m not really building it but rather making some improvements and doing a lot of deferred maintenance. I don’t know land cruisers well but I’m handy. My goals for this have been to replace missing bits and correct a few farmer fixes. The next step with be some rust mitigation in the bed and then some upgrades. Looking forward to learning more.

Wow! More pics! (Is that a rubber plug in the roof?)

You list a ‘63 in your signature, that’s a mid-‘63 based on doors. VIN?

I think it had an antenna there.

Been doing some small jobs. Freed up throttle and choke cables. Rebuilt carb, repaired parking brake and replaced cable. Removed the bed for some cleaning and rust repairs. Fixed turn signals. Got stock hubcaps. Replaced windshield seal (same as Land Rover side window and cheaper) bent up repair panels for bed, rear sill and rear crossmember on chassis. Hot rivets soon!! Still need a lot of parts. Rear tail lamps and mounting brackets on chassis, rear wiring clips, tailgate chains FD knob and nut. Need some pics of stock exhaust too.

What goes here
Originally nothing - unless a dealer installed washer bag but I thought that was on driver‘s side - @whitey45 ?

That exhaust positioning looks mostly original except for hanger remnant - muffler should mount on a bracket off the frame.

One of the worst parts of my 45 was the rear chassis crossmember. Someone was really unkind to it in the past and then slapped a crappy hitch over this mess. Wasn’t able to find anyone making chassis parts so had some channel bent up to correct size and radius. Got the inner gusset repaired today. Hoping to do the pressings in the crossmember and the layout for the rivets and other holes tomorrow and maybe start riveting!!!

Was that inner gusset welded? That's a beyond great job!
