YALLLLLL. for 379.99 total shipping and all.. i got 2 wireless remotes. The wired remote. A hat. Only ONE sticker though. All kinds of stuff. This things a flippin BEASTTTT.
Put on the PS scuff plate. Had to remove the old one to do so. Drilled out a few screwheads and pried it up. 50 years of spilled drinks and whatnot glued it down pretty well. Chipped out the glue with a wood chisel, color matched the interior...
Just do what needs to be done to enjoy it, then pick away at the small items. I kinda regret losing so many years of driving while I was building mine - love it, but man, the time. Resist saying, 'while I am here I may as well'
the one I am getting is the A1006 chrome :yuck::yuck:🤮🤮🤢🤢 CS130 one from Whoosphy on amazon for $130 "chrome 160 amp CS130 alternator with serpentine pulley replacement for GM Chevy SBC BBC 6.2L 6.5L 7.4L A1006C" is the exact title. Being a 1...
EGR/desmogging may only create vacuum leaks. I agree with you here, @YukonCruisers - get the carb cleaned/sorted and the idle circuit blown out so you can confirm a clean jet during idle. Then go after timing. Valves could likely use an...
Thanks folks, I will start to dig into it soon.
@dmaddox - current syptoms are very hard starting , despite fuel in the bowl and good spark. Occasionally responds well to a quick start vapour. Once running idle is a littl high, but fine...
Starting on a refurb of a 40, the PO has "deleted" the EGR.
Is there a good thread on tuning post delete?
I don't want to get into a debate about reconnecting everything, I know if left alone EGR is fine, I don't think I have all the bits now...
I don't think Steve at Extreme Bends is on this forum, but he knows a lot of the land cruisers and 55s in the Vancouver area, I have bought lots of stuff from him, will send him a link.
Small addition to Bonnie. Wife and daughter did the crane thing at Destin Arcade, where you win something every time. Somehow we have 30 ducks and one single pig. Well only one mattered.
Yes, I went through the process of getting a resistor in the path to supposedly give it the right feedback, but i was just following someone else's thread as opposed to actually knowing what I was doing there - will get a replacement ordered once...
Thank you @Ol Yeller for welcoming us into your guys home for the night and breakfast. Was a much needed few minutes off the road to reset for the last leg down. Few hundred more miles today and then start the work on it in the morning to lower...
@BoomerUZ
good idea re the alternator, thanks.
re the set up, its a r150f transmission, the ebay KSRacing kit from thailand - they are still selling them, includes bell housing and clutch kit, and then I replaced the TOB with a Howes racing...
Another shake down run, have a weird transmission sound like a loose rattle when coming in and out of gear or on and off the throttle. Seems to be quite far forward, makes me wonder if I messed something up when installing the clutch - it does...
Got back to work on the pig after taking last week off with children and grandchildren in town. Axles and diffs have been sandblasted. They are prepped and I will start tomorrow with paint. Also making good progress on the hinges. Thanks...
