Went to go drop off some scooter parts for powder coat. Then did a transmission drain and fill for the first time today while I was changing out the oil in the diffs/tcase. Got some goodies from LJE but couldn’t get too far before the rain started
Safe $1 bet says the tech tried to press the joint in with the boots in place and buggered them up, especially looking at the gorilla work on the spindle arms.. Best way to do it is to take the boot off and use your press cup set to press the...
I thought they were 4.10's but yes, once they went to 5spd AT, the gears went from 4.3 to 4.1.
Get your VIN and input it on partsouq.com then search the drivetrain schematics.
When I bought my 100 from @shellb he had one of these interior kits. I wonder if he still has that in his garage...
I feel like it's best suited to spry young short people. (RE: Japanese)
I LOVE them with the vintage dog dish centers. I wonder how compromised the brake cooling is? But is it really much better with the common "D" holes of the OEM steelies.
So far I've gathered the heater T's, timing chain, and braking system are major potential issues that should be addressed up front.
If the Timing Belt was replaced 15K miles ago, it’s good for another 75K…assuming the water pump and thermostat...
I actually did, but she loves her 4R Limited. We have it lifted with a “custom” half Zone Offroad and half FOX 1.5-2” lift. She wanted a TRD but loved the Limited… so now I’m making her a TRL 🤷🏼♂️ sourcing the TRD front and rear bumper skins...
Waited over 5 days (was out of town) before trying to start again, to no avail. Fuel filter is years old, but am thinking it wouldn’t cause sudden death. Fuel pump has never been replaced, and is apparently a known point of failure. Have looked...
The problem is that the factory pump will work intermittently in the early stages of failure.
Let it sit overnight and try it again...if it fires right up, it's probably the fuel pump in early stage failure.
I just swapped mine with a cheapo to...
I drained the transmission and replaced the filter, the oil was a little dark so it was probably a good thing to do now before the first start up. I installed the driver side shock tower, had to add an access hole for the nuts on the frame inner...
That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the details! I snugged the valve cover bolts up by hand and noticed they were pretty loose. When I pull the airbox next time I’ll do a little more thorough job of torquing to spec.
This past week, I used my 100 Series to tow a couple of rotor-tillers and pallets of soil to rebuild our backyard.
I then spent the weekend installing DBA Pads, OE Rotors, and Slee brake lines.
Some notes I made about the brake line install...
Hey guys,
I'm a bit late in the game, but I thought I would start a build page for my LX470.
A little bit of backstory - my old man purchased the vehicle in 2022 with about 180, xxx miles on it. Many maintenance items needed to be addressed...
Did plugs and coil boots today. Glad to have done it, a few plugs didn’t look great and the passenger side coil boots were really dry. Coils looked good for the most part, a couple look like they want to split at the seam but this should avoid...
