The joys of Landcruisers. I’m just surprised a dealership is willing to help, have never had that in any of my dealing with any.
Obviously it’s been pieced together but what 50- 55 year old rig hasn’t. Only thing I’d say is if you’re happy with...
Wow, what a trip.
We made it up the coast through Florence and over to Portland.
In Portland we did a sensory deprivation float in a tub with 1400 pounds of Epsom salt. Then we went to a 7 course tasting of wild forraged food and home fermented...
@J Mack You don’t remember I thought those were to ur welds on that front cross member ?
No I bought off bat. Had it shipped out to Oregon to my folks to do some work on before shipping it to Hawaii. Rebuilt front axle, bearings hubs seals...
I’m going to be happy if I get 40k out of them. I have 255/75/17 load range c. Wanted the softer load range C over E was why I went there but then fully loaded ended up having to run way more air than I had planned to not have the tires squat...
She'll fit! I was in the Napa Buxton yesterday and saw a uhual car trailer and was gonna holler at you... Is that the one your dad is grabbing? Ferry rides make for a long day, but short driving distance.
So cool you are keeping the LC swapping...
Has some original things and is missing some. The stamped bezel and early grille mesh without Toyota are original, horns. Wiper motors are correct
Lots going on under the hood that not original but has kept it alive so that’s a plus. See if...
if you want full restoration to original condition to me there is only 3 shops out there I would even consider and your talking 150k and 5 years. Early cruisers are there own animal, the knowledge of them is hard to find and all the parts are...
All depends what you want out of it. If you want to go more purist look over in the 25 section. Since that is an early cruiser it’s going to have some different parts than most the 40s. Blinker are incorrect and stock ones are easily available...
Been loving using the 62 around the house the last week since we’ve been home. Stuck it in 4 lo the first day back from our trip to tow out the 89 fj62 from the hole it sat in to get to my trailer and decided it’s just a nice old tractor to move...
Awesome yeah so starting just above graves creek. I think about 4 miles up river. Couple smaller rapids before you get to Rainee falls. Be safe it’s a beautiful trip thru all that country and the rogue is no joke. My pigs sitting about 40 minutes...
Which section of the rogue you floating? Figure if your making a trip that far up doing 4 day float Starting at graves creek? Spent a lot of time on that river growing up.
Pulley from @orangefj45 is now waiting for me South of the border
And the ship date on the pump just moved up to first week of Aug, so some parts gathering progress at least while I am doing yard projects and summer holidays etc.
Also added some billet to the engine bay. The next week is going to be a flurry of updates. Driveshafts are at the machine shop. Everything I needed is on order already and just waiting arrival.
Yeah that was before the paint job and 18k miles of the trip. Everyone there tried to talk my wife out of painting it and leaving it as is but she wanted it pretty for the trip. Glad I painted it after looking back at some photos of it.
