'04 Sequoia trans temp gauge install

I ended up installing autometer trans temp gauge. I ran a "T" into the line right before it enters the trans cooler in radiator, this is the hottest temperature reading. Probably higher temp reading than it would be in the pan. The only trick was I had to run a ground wire off the brass "T"...

V8 temp in 105 degree weather

What is the best mechanical fan to use for pulling air? I need to take a look and see what type of fan is on the vehicle. The radiator mix is currently 50/50, I just installed new hoses and flushed it out this past spring filling back up with 50/50 premix. The radiator is a Man A Fre...

V8 temp in 105 degree weather

I ran my cruiser for the first time in 105 degree weather yesterday, during stop and go it was running around 195. When I idled in parking lot for 10 minutes it went up to 220. The 220 seemed to be the max temp, never went above this. Started driving again and it went right back down to 195...

'04 Sequoia trans temp gauge install

Anyone here installed a temp gauge on there transmission? I cant seem to locate much information on this. I see there is an Auto Trans idiot light on the dash so I am assuming I should be able to tap into the sending unit. Just wanted to see if anyone has done this on a Sequoia or Tundra...

Builds The Clustertruck Rides Again - Refurbishing a 1975 Chevota

CA smog is the problem, it's currently set at 1975. I heard rumor soon they are possibly bumping to 1977. If this happens I will more than likely drop a new fuel injected engine. It is a PIA to get a new CARB sticker with a new engine, you have to run cats, all sensors, etc. just not worth...

Builds The Clustertruck Rides Again - Refurbishing a 1975 Chevota

How much vacuum are you pulling at idle? I have a Qjet as well on a Edelbrock performer intake manifold with a 1" spacer. I am also running a thicker gasket between the carb and spacer. My idle will change occasionally from 650-700 to 550 rpms, I notice my vacuum gauge at 20 idles perfect...

    ARB air locker wiring question

My 40 had the ARB lockers installed by PO. I have front and rear lockers with stock ARB compressor. He has it wired to where if I engage the compressor toggle it will allow the rear locker to be engaged along with the front. If I turn off the rear locker the front will not work (even when...

How many miles on 35" Goodyear MTR's?

Just wondering if anyone here is running these GoodYear MTR's w/Kevlar tires and how many miles you are getting out of them? I have 35x12.50x15 with about 2,500 miles on them and they look like they are wearing very well. Just curious how many miles people are getting out of these with 40's.

Bimini fix - no more flapping on the freeway!

The only reason I can think of is every roll cage is a little different, but definitely much needed. It was amazing how much air would develop under that bimini at 35 mph+ the slapping would almost give you a headache.

Bimini fix - no more flapping on the freeway!

I was tired of the bimini flapping against roll cage so I took it in to a local upholstery shop and had them sew in some velcro 2" ties on it. This was a much needed upgrade, it is so much better now! If you are experiencing this would highly recommend this mod, cost was about $90 total which...

'76 turn signal base grommet - making your own

Sarge, the door trim worked perfect. Very pleased with how they turned out, thanks for the recommendation! I have 17 ft left if anyone needs to make a grommet! Using a heat gun was the key, it softened up the trim piece and when it cooled down was perfectly conformed to the signal. Total...

'76 turn signal base grommet - making your own

Rubber rope with a slot in it would be great, do you have a source for that where I could find some?

'76 turn signal base grommet - making your own

I am going to re-painting my turn signals on my '76. I need new base grommets but they are no longer available. Has anyone here made there own with some rubber gasket material? Just wanted to see if someone had already done this. Thanks...
