With the Toyota spec of 76.1" w/o the rack, is the rack less than 2" tall?
Edit: I took some rough measurements off the images on the Toyota web site. Which could be renders, so take with a grain of salt. Assuming Toyota's height spec of 76.1"...
I was rather surprised that the departure listed was lower than the GX. That seems unlikely given they have essentially the same dimensions. I wish toyota would clear up some of the stats.
Ah ok this is another case where they have different stats on different pages. On the specification page they list 8" clearance and 17 deg departure angle, on the press release they say 8.7" and 22 degree. Curiously both say 31 deg approach...
If toyota put better ATs on their trucks, I would. However toyota seems set on putting on what are essentially highway tires. I wish they would at least use the OT tires. Regardless my truck will get Falken AT3Ws of the 33/34 variety and I'll...
Does anyone have good pictures of the US LC rock rails that come standard on the first edition? (Or a link to photos or a video?) They're an option on other trims and I'm just wondering if they are worth anything. I'm sure there will be better...
My plans are similar. Good sliders reduce door dings, so that's a must. (I need to find better pictures of the stock ones, I don't think they stick out very far.) Over the weekend I saw a video with a Toyota Engineer saying the GX and LC are...
If you're crawling through snow drifts then he's correct. Part time will be on and there won't be much difference. However at highways speeds with sketchy traction where part time really isn't appropriate, full time is a significantly better solution
Having driven Toyota SUVs with full-time 4WD (4th Gen 4Runner Limited and 200 Series Land Cruiser) in New England for the past 20 years, I agree completely. I greatly prefer full-time 4WD over part-time.
Most of the at fault SUV accidents in my family would have been prevented with full-time 4wd. Until you live with it you can't really appreciate how amazing it is.
Dedicated snow tires for everything we own. Having a full time system is far more convenient as it’s always engaged. I’m constantly transitioning between snowpack, mixed, wet pavement and back no need to shift in and out of part time.
Yes for the Platinum, optional for Limited. And it looks like neither of those will have a rear locker option.
"The Limited is offered with an available a full-time four-wheel-drive system with a center locking differential on i-FORCE MAX...
