The best product I used for the rust stain removal was a cleaner named "Awesome", that removes all types of stains from washable items. It was, well, awesome.

What is the best way to remove rust stains and other crud stains from FJ40 OEM floormats? Any particular cleaners or methods to use?

OK, I don't know what happened and don't know how to fix it ... I got out of my 97 FJZ80 this a.m., hit the top "lock" button on my Toyota key fob, and my alarm started going off (says Toyota Security with a red blinking button on the dash). Perhaps I hit the wrong button on the fob, I dunno...

So if my rpm's were too high, what would be causing that?

The noise was more of a roadnoise roar, but louder than usual. The RPMs were just above 3k at 70. Thanks for the info on the temp guage, will keep that in mind.

Everything was fine on the commute in this a.m. The only change I made recently was replacing the two small vacuum hoses on the top of the valve cover yesterday. I tried to replace the PCV valve, but couldnt get it out, so I just left it and replaced the hoses as preventative maintenance.

I've had the truck for 3 months. It has 79k miles on it. Ambient temperature was in the mid 80s.

Temperature guage was fine, all the guages looked normal when the truck was making the louder noise.
