Check the coil and ignitor...may be a weak spark?

If it's misfiring on some cylinders more that others I'd be looking at compression or spark. You could have sticking valves or slightly burnt valves lowering running compression but not static compression. I'd run a cylinder leak down test...

Not going to say its 100% fixed yet. Will give it a good 30 min highway drive in the morning, which should be a good test. But think I got it fixed. Pulled the old thermostat to replace with a 160*. Old one was in upside down! Replaced it...

Since the fan is locked at all times and intact, replacing the fan currently is only for peace of mind, it will not resolve your issue. Cap is a cheap initial check, but high probability it is NOT your fault. Coolant is at boiling point because...

Maybe another 50', but 100' with extensions has been fine for me. Only need to use extensions every once in a long while.

Good info, thanks gnob. I have some extensions for the 100 which is currently running synthetic but the 40 has wire rope on an 8274 and wanting to switch to synthetic for the sake of keeping my recoverbag as light as possible.

warn issues 150'. i did 100' as well for the sake of sideloading the drum with funny pulls. having some line extensions are nice and light if needed for more distance. i have 2 25/30 extensions. M8274-S 10,000lb Winch with Synthetic Rope | WARN...

I still have a few of my grandfather’s snap on tools that I started using the summer of 76 when I started working for him when I was 14, including that 9/16” tubing wrench. The proto set was dad’s.
