I sure will be to start with.
This is the original seat to the vehicle. Photo I took before building the tunnel. I'll grab another tomorrow with the tunnel.
Have also picked up a YETI Cooler cup holder set up.
I have seen the headrest mod done with an Excursion third row as well as those didn’t come with them.
My rig has two offroad bucket seats and 4-point harnesses in the back. I need to switch to a bench to fit all three kids, but I have the...
Everyone has opinions on locking differentials so I might as well add mine to the mix. I'm a selectable guy so no Detroit, or Lock-Rite or whatever for me. I would probably look at the Harrop e-locker if I wanted to lock my rear diff.
Set the body on the chassis this morning.
Should lower down about perfect with all the weight I need to still add. Figure about 2" drop in rear and 4" in the front. Looking for a .75-1.00" rake when finished.
Stretched out at 108.75" wheelbase...

I’m usually in the 80s section, but figured I’d hop over here for once. I wouldn’t even have a Land Cruiser if it weren’t for my dad—he bought his ‘79 brand new and daily drove it everyday until the mid-2010s.
Growing up, I remember riding...
If I remember right it just wouldn’t do it, I don’t remember the specifics but I do remember reading in the manual that was a problem. I wanted to keep some meat frozen solid, too much to ask I guess.
As long as the frame is solid, you can repair most of the body. My first 55 sat for 10 years before I had the body work done, a 1977. Then a carb fix and it ran great. Being in the Northeast salt zone, it did eventually rust again.
Purchased...
My first Cruiser was a 1977 FJ55 I bought in 1987. It was just starting to bubble in all the usual spots. It was my DD and I took it to Assateague Island to drive on the beach. It was a blast. But the boxed frame held sand over the years and...
I have a Truma and a National Luna dual zone. The National Luna is in my camper, works ok but has difficulty with big temp splits between the two zones. Sips power though. The Truma I have yet to use as a dual zone. It’s big but seems built...
I had my ten minutes of time in the shop today, got the Moser axle bearing cut off. It's totally different and what I believe to be is the wrong length. The bearing seat has a spacer pressed on to try and make the flange width correct (it's 2.4"...
I've been saving up pictures for a year, so maybe it seems fast but I'm ready to get this thing moving! With one kid in college and two doing high school rodeo my time disappears faster than I want. Oh yeah, work gets in the way too.
WDE! Class of '84.
My pig is in the middle of body work and although they are sandblasting, sanding, etc., they are also having to cut a lot of parts apart. Many areas on these pigs are layered and totally untouchable unless you tear/cut them...
