    1989 Fj-62 - $6500

I just had a compression test done and it did very well. All pressures were within 2.5% of the average. I also have a smog test that shows the engine easily passes the requirements in California. If you are looking for an FJ-62 that is comfortable, reliable, and safe on the road and off...

    I apreciate your help !

Mine does this all the time. The solenoid is on the upper right side of the engine compartment (left side if you are in front of the car). It has two hoses connected to it, one over the other. The solution is to push the button back in (as if you are in 4WD, switch the hoses on the solenoid...

    OldMan EMU Upgrade tomorrow

Like DD, I also used a cam strap to pull the rear axle (and hold it) far enough forward for the spring pin to line up. I was able to wrap the strap from my rock sliders to the axle. Make sure you take the grease nipple off of the drive shaft first, before you try to pull the axle forward...

    big winches for a 60

My FJ62 weighes in right at 5000 lbs with a heavy Warn M12000, full size spare, rear Kaymar bumber, and rock sliders and a full tank of gas. I can't imagine that you have an additional 900 lbs hanging off your rig? I have only weighed it once though, so maybe the scale was off. But, since...

    Disconnect the Swaybars?

Do any of you disconnect the swaybars on your FJ62 when you go wheeling? Is there a significant advantage to doing it? I have an FJ62 with OME springs and am just wondering if disconnecting the sway bars while offroad provides a noticable advantage.

Where to place ads when I'm ready to sell?

There's a song from the 80s that goes..."Nobody walks in LA..." just get a decent bike for your commute and use your LC on weekends. There is a lot of great 4 wheeling Southeast of you in Anza Borrego Desert State Park. You can drive down any dry wash and set up camp anywhere you want...

    Powertrax V's Lockright ?

I have a Powertrax No-Slip in my FJ62 installed by the PO. I have had no problems with it since I bought the truck 3 months ago. The torque transfer was easy to get used to - I just don't accelerate or decelerate in corners. I do get the occasional "bang" from it - going very slow, turning...

    62 purchase in chicago

For comparison with a west coast car, I just paid $6500 for a 1989 FJ62 with 261,000 miles in California. It runs very well, has an excellent body and interior, Warn winch, rock sliders, Kaymar bumper, a No-Slip locking rear differential and 5 excellent 33x9.5 tires. Everything in the car...

    BDS Lift Question....

Do you have greasable shackles and spring pins on your Cruiser? If not, you might think about adding some. I'm a new FJ62 owner and I installed new OME springs and shocks a couple of hundred miles ago. The ride quality improvement over my stock (worn out) springs was significant...

    No more buyers remorse

No problem at all, I don't mind showing it off. Here is a view of the back bumper. The PO had the side pivots cut off. I suppose I could weld them back on if I wanted to add a spare tire holder or jerry can holder. This picture is from the PO, I downloaded it from his advertisement on the...

    No more buyers remorse

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I guess I was a little understated when I said that I do not have any more buyers remorse. After wheeling it up in the mountains over the weekend, I am absolutely in love with the rig. It was love at first climb. My original feelings were like "what...
