Not the best start to the day. Daughter was parked up at high school when Florida Man drove into her. No idea what speed the idiot was doing but thankfully my daughter is OK but a little shaken up.
Driver side fender and door is also...
I use the super tech as well, my brother told me once who makes it, don’t remember, think it was the same as valvoline? I change it once a year or so, it also is usually the only one I can find brand wise in the heavier weights for arbs without...
Worn out 265/75/16 BFGs are gone and have been replace with 285/75/16 Yokohama Geolandars. New tires are noticeably taller than the old. This is my 5th set of the Yokohama MTs, first set on the 80, previous 4 sets have been 255/85/16 that I run...
Also, who is this crew? Met you in Stewart BC at the gas station. We discussed we are all active on Mud, but forgot your handles. Anyways, nice to meet you all and hope you have a good rest of your trip.
12 days in trip to journey to Alaska with Dad! Currently in Whitehorse YT. Trip is going well and trucks are both running great. Just missed the 331,000 mark at camp.
I am more interested in the why rather the how. There are no shortage of solutions that will give you more power but my question is why do you think you need it. I ran a '94 for years with front and rear bumpers, sliders and a roof rack and...
Building my fourth set of drawers for the 5th Land Cruiser I have owned. The 4th one already had drawers. I build simple ones without slides and they carry a lot of weight just fine pushing them in and out. Pocket holes and glue.
have you taken the plastic covers off the top of the head and checked for water in the spark plug tubes? It sounds like there may be water in there
+1 on what Marvelicious said about pressure washers as well, garden hose only I use and for...
All comes down to maintenance that has been done.
i.e. all coolant hoses, transmission hoses, brake lines, fuel lines/hoses, lubrication, etc. Brake pads etc. Belts.
Basic toolbox with what you would need to replace a hose or change a spark...
Careful with that. I'm pretty sure I saw them plug one of those into Patrick Stewart's head when he was taken by the Borg...
Looks like multi-pair possibly shielded cable of some kind. I'd guess radio equipment of some kind.
Remove the rear tires and place jack stands under the frame in front of the LCAs.
Unbolt the body from the frame leaving the front bolts loose in place
Using a chain, attach it to the 2 floor striker points for the 3rd row seats.
Attach a...
Yeah definitely. Lots of traffic means the trail is constantly changing. That first video I posted of the "Gauntlet", this is what it looked like in 2018. Almost unrecognizable at this point.
I can't recall how much it takes as I just pour the oil onto a modified garden spayer which makes filling the diffs much quicker. I have used the Supertech gear oil from wally world for years. I don't see the point in over paying for oil when i...
Okay, you guys talked me into it.
If I remember correctly 2 gallons / 8 quarts should be enough to do the t case with a part time kit and 2 diffs with arb's right?
I think last time I used Lucas synthetic 75w-90 in all 3. That should be fine...
If it’s leaking that bad like others have said it needs to come apart.
Never had a single issue with paper flange gaskets in 10 years of ownership.
If everything is working properly gear oil should never reach that gasket.
IMO adding permatex...
Clean up complete - and installed a window molle panel for storage options - next job get the rear shelf setup back in when carpets fully dry..
I wasn’t going to do both sides but I think i will now - got a deal on them!
I change the oil in the diffs when the clocks go forward. Any moisture, dirt etc. Picked up over the winter months is more or less gone in time for a summer of driving. Cost is less than a bar bill so makes sense to me.
