If you already know fitment is a problem, why would you reuse it? Having worked through overheating issues, I would be using ANY size replacement that fit properly. Having that tube submerged in overflow coolant is critical to sucking coolant...
So I'm a big fan of the OEM lockers but over the 7 years of owner ship I have had a few issues with the rear locker. The problem seems to be water getting in the actuator.
This what I found the first time I looked into it the O-ring was bad so I...

Rear built Shelves out, seats out.
First few days into the roadtrip to Alaska with my dad. So far camped in Jackson, Big Sky, Whitefish, Radiant BC, and today went through Banff and Jasper. So far so good!
I put together the following thread after I did a full system refresh and it covers a lot of details that should be useful:

I don't think it is quite organized as a step-by-step replacement guide, but the AC chapter in the FSM is comprehensive. If you've got access to a decent printer, I'd just print that whole chapter out and have it on hand for the whole process. It...
unbolt the drive shafts and check the uni's when theyre not attached to the flanges, its the best way to determine the needle bearings are not shot / binding which can be hidden when bolted in place
I took the easy route as per the trusted gurus on the forum and just retightened the nut to the same point where it was staked originally. I know when i go back to swap the brearings out i will need to use a new crush sleeve and do some...
Not saying it is your issue, but I attributed my soft at the top pedal to all kinds of different things, but what ultimately fixed it was a new booster.
Mine is ABS/LSPV deleted too. I went down the road of lines (replaced all with Slee...

Thanks fellas. The cruiser is definitely a work in progress but far from a project. I have to unfornicate quite a few janky repairs from the past.
Two days ago my wife told me she smelled something sweet when she shut down the cruiser. I...
Good day, mud,
The purpose of this thread is mainly to document the journey of this Land Cruiser. I unexpectedly bought this LC when I drove it up from Melbourne, FL a couple of months ago. I was driving it to my home in TN, to perform a...
Fyi.
I bought an AC Delco and the plunger gear would not retract and made a grinding/screeching sound(fly wheel). Replaced it with Denso $164 and all is good.
Replaced the starter with one I had in a parts box. Replaced the negative terminal with new crimped ends and block. Fingers crossed while knocking on wood that this fixes my multi-key-turn odd starting issue.
Have you tried driving with the front driveshaft removed? That way you can determine if it’s the front or rear that’s making the noise. Most driveline vibrations are from bad ujoints, no grease in the driveshaft, or the driveshaft angle after a...
