Do not mix up your buckets and shims/valve lifters and valves! It's much easier when you put the valve and lifter back where it was removed from. Got it worked out though.

Test the threads.
Make sure the bolt travels the whole thread range using gentle thumb and forefinger pressure.
Now the block needs to be thoroughly cleaned.

Do not use a degreaser containing lye or other metal hydroxide on aluminum!
These ingredients will eat/react with your nice aluminum parts. UGLY! These wheels were purchased this way. Good deal on the Dunlop tires though.
