Every time when i switch climate control ('03 with navigation) to "auto" my flow direction changes to "floor". I really would like to avoid that or choose some other default option. Any thoughts?

I have annoying rust spot in front of rear wheels which comes back over and over. I think areas below running boards are less protected somehow. Is there some kind of protection piece that can be installed in this place? Or any other way to get rid of rust forever. Any suggestions are welcome...

I have 2003 white (with grey bumpers) stock LC. I am going to repaint front and back bumpers, plus side strip. I am thinking to paint these parts in some different colors for some reason. Any suggestions? Maybe white?

In case my question is too general, i am mostly worried about additional exposure to corrosion and stuff. There will be no offroading for me. I don't really worry about actual fire prevention ( should i?). Any opinions welcome

My heat shield pretty much disentigrated. I read some threads, but still not sure if heat shield is vital for the car. Any thoughts?

Following advice of fellow mudder (Manhattan), i painted lower lip on the car flat black. I am attaching pictures in case it will help somebody who is on the fence. There is obviously different lighting in the pictures, which prevents clear understanding of result, but i like it.

Seems like big rubber is the key for right look. This will have to wait. Sigh...
