Do i need a heat shield? (1 Viewer)

My heat shield pretty much disentigrated. I read some threads, but still not sure if heat shield is vital for the car. Any thoughts?

In case my question is too general, i am mostly worried about additional exposure to corrosion and stuff. There will be no offroading for me. I don't really worry about actual fire prevention ( should i?).
Any opinions welcome

What heat shield are you talking about?

The factory puts heat shielding where it is needed to protect other components. Probably better to replace the shield rather than delete it unless you really want to know what fails when the shield is not there.

And if the hot part is close to floor you can melt or ignite carpet. Don't ask me how I know and please don't post pictures if you do.
