I am proud to be a part of Solid Axle Summit! I enjoy the people I get to work with, and I enjoy the people that get to join us. I like putting names and faces to mud-handles, though I do not remember them all, but I do try. We, directors and...
This was my first SAS and I had a blast! Thank you to everyone that helped me out and took me under their wing, especially @aandy767 !
I finally got my drone footage loaded up to YouTube. If anyone else was with me in the 85 Pickup on Monday...

As always, my favorite event. My favorite people. Thankful to share these trails with some amazing people and countless laughs along the way. Even convinced my brother to join for a day. Is it August 2026 yet?!
Cheers
My tow rig is also my trail rig. Will have gone about 3,200 miles averaging terrible mpg and rarely reaching the speed limit when we finally roll home later today.
We enjoyed almost every minute.
Averaged over 17 miles per gallon over ~650 miles. Most of the time it could manage posted speed limits. I was not in a hurry. The journey IS the destination.
Got home last night.
Wife had put all my mail, bills, business stuff in a tub.
Sorting through it this morning and on the very bottom of the stack is the latest edition of Toyota Trails, with a fantastic article in it about @cruiserdan .
I feel...
After having a few days to put gear away and reset, it has been a very long time since I have enjoyed an event as much as this one. The "feel" is visceral. I don't know how else to define it
Had the fortune to camp next to @cruiserdan and get to know him and his lovely wife Sarah over the week.
Trail led a few runs and hunted lakes for my boy to jump in (my daughter and I joined him for one).
Met the lucky new owner of Jimmy’s...
Great minds 🤪
2,642 miles and SAS9 is a wrap for us.
I'll get some pictures up later.
Thanks again to everyone who made this event possible. We had a great time. Second guessing leaving Colorado though with this humidity - and it really...
SAS swag trailer landed safely back home about an hour ago.
We are simply humbled by the feel of community with all of you knuckleheads.
A special thanks to @CenTXFJ60, @BombCity,

My son and I stopped by Monday morning, we were on our way home to Cali from Grand Rapids Michigan. We were greeted by Jules who was working alone that day, she told us that Dan is RETIRED officially, I guess I miss that deadline somewhere but...
On flat ground and moderate inclines I could maintain posted speed limits. On steeper inclines I grabbed lower gears as my speed declined. In all but the steepest climbs I was able to crest in 3rd gear at around 45 miles per hour.
Bonneville schedule. We will be arriving on the Salt Sept 4th setting up pits and going through Tech. We get 6 runs over 3 days. With Cruiserfest going on at the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum Sept 6th we will be making to following runs Sept 5 - 2...
I just got back from the Solid Axle Summit in Ouray Colorado. I pulled this ~3,400 pound trailer through Utah and Colorado mountain passes for 640 round trip miles. I averaged 17.4 miles per gallon. Combined GVW for truck and trailer is ~9,000...
Came back from a trail ride late last night & didn’t notice this. As I was packing this morning I looked at the odometer. I’ve had this baby for 24 years now. Accounting for larger than OEM tires during this time…easily over 400k on this 60...
