Closing the loop here. Seats disassembled, bracket carefully bent back to the correct position, new bottom foam from SOR, new covers from Cruiser Corps, and new hinge bushings/clip installed. Glad to have the seats sitting back at the right...

Hello, all!
I bought a carburetor from City Racer LLC back in November, when I first picked up my 40 project. Between ordering and delivery, I quickly discovered that I had way more to fix than I first assumed, and my project scope went from a...
I did a crazy amount of rust repair on this one, especially firewall back, but have made every effort to preserve existing patina and blend new sheet metal/paint with the old.
Oh boy. Went and did a thing.
Son went with me to just "check out" this sweet 1983 FJ60 that has been sitting for.. a while. Last registered in 2000, been on non-op since. But, as far as I can tell, it's also about the most rust free and no...
Done. Help and intel here and from @DirtDauberGarage, @WTFOVR, others from the Atl YOTA crew was a huge help. I’m thinking she wears em well. Beer break with the dogs was a critical step. Also: 1) do yourself a favor and cover the foam with a...
This is probably cheating, but sharing pictures of Cruisers on a slow Thursday might merit some tolerance ...

This is the first time I have ever used Rusty (or any FJ40) to pull something. I know this was a pretty light load, but man... he did great. I couldn't even tell there was anything back there. It was super satisfying for me to be using this 40...
I just became the owner of a 92 LC. Currently in he process of removing the radiator, repacing the head gasket and wil be doing a de-smog. 156k miles. The previous owner let the LC slide on maintainence for a while. I'll be catching that up...
On THE podcast this week Alan Pagán joins me to talk about how deep and meaningful his trusty Fj43 has been a beacon of positivity in his life and how the small adventures lead to big impacts.

This week I go back to the peach state to talk to @DirtDauberGarage. After hearing @73Fj43 and wanted to join in the merriment and frivolity. He tells me about how the best time to begin a project is when the world tells you to stay inside. Also...
Hey fellas! I'm in Braselton and happy to join the cruiser family. If anyone wants to swap suspension and tire setup. PM me. I need something a little smaller for my needs. Thanks!
Replacement power steering heat shields are hard to find. I was able to find a non-power steering shield and bent the brackets to fit. I've seen some cool "one-off" fabricated shields. I thought about doing that, but this was quick and easy.
I...
Here are all the old seals. It was definitely due for a rebuild. Here are all the old seals. It was leaking from everywhere. Probably because the PO put on a header and deleted the heat shield. The box would cook every time you drove it.
My wife was not too happy about the smell, but I appreciated the air conditioning.
I could not find a good video for an FJ40, so I used a video from YouTube where a guy rebuilt a box for an FJ80. There were a few differences, but it was close...
I rebuilt a 1979 Toyota FJ40 power steering box today for a friend. It was an exercise in persistence, patience, and attention to detail. It is as good as new... I hope!!
Here are some "before" pics.
I used a rebuild kit from...
The joys of Landcruisers. I’m just surprised a dealership is willing to help, have never had that in any of my dealing with any.
Obviously it’s been pieced together but what 50- 55 year old rig hasn’t. Only thing I’d say is if you’re happy with...
