Awesome! You should convince them to put a Toyota engine back in it. ;)

I’ll be visiting the Terrain Taner HQ in Melbourne in a month, super excited to see this cruiser in person! I have a soft spot for HJ47s since I had one as my DD for a number of years when my son was born. 😎 Georg @ Valley Hybrids & Terrain...

Friend found this in a Culdesac in McKinney thaw house had a 2 car garage with a one car attached. He had never seen the one car opened in ten plus years. One day he noticed it up, and spotted the front end of an FJ40. It took a couple of years...

Some of you who visit chat may have noted that I got the Karma Cruiser out on the trail again a week ago. There was a lot of little things that I had to get done just to be comfortable taking it out, which was good, considering the challenges we...

Thanks for the update Mark. And i understand about being depressed, I work hard manual labor 10 hours a day for a lot less than $40 hr. I try not to think about it too much. 😅 I do hope business picks up, and will call you first with parts...

Martin I would have called you, but I can't seem to find your phone number. I took the box to UPS today. Shipping was over the $90 I guestimated, and that was due in large part because you requested a residential delivery. And between the...

I would pay 8000, sell the tub to recoup some cost, make sure my tetanus shot is up to date and just continue driving that 40 as-is after going through the mechanicals. Seriously. Lots of life left. you won't have to stress about the salt in the...

Show me what you have for rhrottle cable or linkage. I looked on the parts shelf and i have a few that will work depending on how it connects. (I know 40's better than 55's). I can rebuild it too if you want something ready to plug and play.

It does come with a new steel 3/4 tub. Not sure how makes the replacement tub so if anyone can shed some light on the tub, it would be great. If that is a typical Colombian tub, it may require massive rework to get it to fit the hard top (and...

If it was mechanically perfect (or close to it), runs, drives, etc. amazing, and YOU can do all the body and paint work without farming it out AND you have the time, money and talent for the project, then it could be worth taking on. Price? If...

I teach a basics automotive class for one of our local high schools here in Montana. Just two 45 minute elective classes a week. This years project/homework... A 1972 FJ55. Found it locally. I pulled over the first day it was on the side of...

Just found this thread. Congrats Drew, what a find! I vote keeping it stock. But you know me, I ❤ drum brakes and no synchro 1st. ;) I bet I have a proper '72ish Aisin carb you could rebuild with the class and swap on.

I did a crazy amount of rust repair on this one, especially firewall back, but have made every effort to preserve existing patina and blend new sheet metal/paint with the old.

Hand impact screwdriver should do it. They require a little finesse to work properly if you're not used to using them. I always try both directions to get it broken loose. Making sure the bit is the proper size and I always kind of preload the...

I think most folks doing resto's choose stock colors. None of the colors you mentioned were offered on 40's originally, afaik, so finding examples will prob be tough.

Sucked out the brake and clutch reservoirs, filled with new fluid, and gravity bled at the wheels, to get new brake fluid into the system.

Now that ive got the two major rust blisters patched up on the passenger rocker, it’s time to start thinking about filler and paint. When I bought the bottle of touchup paint, I also ordered a spray can of Pluto beige. A little light bulb moment...

Thank you! THIS is what I had in mind. Those 4s that are still floating off center in May of ‘66 throws my 12/63 theory out the window!😛 I’m hoping a few collectors that are on here can share pics and production dates like that, especially in...
