I’m gonna say that starts with the 1999 model year, with the switch to the 79 series, but I’m no expert🤣

Calls it a HZ instead of a FJ, maybe a simple mistake but…what else is wrong with it? No heat looks like but AC? Looks like original paint so that’s good for checking for rust. Probably worth spending the time money to check it out in person or...

I don't think those greaseable shackle bolts are factory. that piece on top of the spring going back I also don't think are factory, never seen that before, might be something someone in Europe sold awhile ago. If you can't find any identifying...

Yeah the hand pump should get hard, but definitely before 30 pumps. How old is it? Might be a good time to change with a new Bosch unit

Always a good day when packages from Japan show up. Amazing these parts are still available. Hopefully this one lasts another 30+ years and almost 600,000kms. So nice to have that part new. Everything works so nice. Thanks...

      Are HZ engine mounts available?
    • coldtaco
These spacers are never installed in the catalog or in practice. The leaf springs have a 50 mm lift even without these attachments and require the lifted shock absorbers. Will see
    • coldtaco
only thing to think about when removing those spacers is that the shocks will be more compressed, I think, and have less up travel.

Next morning headed home. Stopped at the Eureka Lodge for some pie. As we got out I noticed a hot smell and smoke coming from the rear wheels. Both sides where spitting brake fluid and the axle/wheels where very hot. Didn’t realize that the...
