There's a local 100 that came stock with this package, I got to see it at a local event (Austin, TX). Very cool and quirky, hard to believe Toyota offered this as a factory option but the history of the Land Cruiser is full of these quirky...
In GA I wouldn't be looking at an IL-owned LC, too much risk of expensive rust repairs and 100's aren't rare enough that you need to be considering that. #5 (assuming a strong maintenance history and good interior condition) seems like a strong...
I've been running armor and 33"+ tires on my 1999 since 2007. I also have another stock 100 of the same year so it's easy to compare. Handling, braking and acceleration are absolutely different, and I am in the process of regearing to compensate...
What a tribute to the quality of these vehicles from the factory, there aren't many vehicles out there that could boast of that mileage and still look like that. ~21K miles a year for almost a quarter century... wow!
If you lived in the northeast, I'd agree that it's manageable, but there is no reason to buy a 100 series in Houston with that kind of rust. Take your time, you'll find a rust free one here in Texas and your life will be MUCH easier every day...
I love the look, but specifically didn't want the tech. That's why I specifically bought the LC100. My other car is a NC Miata. Same thing, all fun, no tech. It's the perfect balance for me, but not for everyone. Enjoy!
Nice find! Glad you connected to Chris, he's super knowledgeable, very straightforward and detail oriented.
I can't tell from the picture but if the only failure of the clear coat is on the hood, there's a few people here on the forum that have...
As a heads up - mount adaptors for the Wolfbox G900 are now available! Courtesy of @cbbr shipping me his G900 so I could measure it & perform fitchecks:
I'm also doing a bulk order of the #129 mounts, so in the future folks will be able to...
Welcome! Great LC community here in ATX, hope to see you at one of the gatherings and check out your wagon!
Here's mine in case you see it driving around!
We have a 2016 200 in addition to our 100s. It's a great daily driver/road trip machine but IMHO doesn't have the same feel/"soul" of a 100, and it feels wider on the trails. The traction control systems are insane, but it's LOADED with sensors...
