Haha When I was at Cruiserfest last year it was on display. Its Super cool and definitely has the HP. We are loaded up and pulling out in the morning. Its really starting to sink in. We are going to Bonneville and I am going to blow my own horn...
Major test drive yesterday went really well The 45 is running fantastic and handles really good. The exhaust came out perfect with the header flange I can swap from the muffler to straight pipe. Its been a long tough build. We will have some...
Just finished installing one on a HJ61 -'88
It is a HJ60 winch so now i have 5 gears out and 1 gear in :) . Wonder if it possible to just order the internal wormgears of a late model and replace them so it will be 5 in and 1out ??
Rebuild an...
@cruisermatt I should add, Our biggest restriction is having a speed rated tire. TOYO Tires sent me the ones we are running rated at 118 MPH so we are basically limited to that speed. Not that I think we will come close to that LOL We will pass...
We are entered in the 150 MPH Club. 2 reasons One - The 45 has the Safety gear ( Rollbar, lap belts, window nets, and so much more we are allowed to enter as a 150 MPH Club Truck/Car ) Two by doing this we get to run on the 3 1/2 mile course. Are...
So the original short block on the LV is nearing the end of its service life and needs some work. The press on crank pulley has about 5* or rotational play on the crankshaft so I'm assuming that the keyway isn't far from letting go. It also...
I’m looking for a good serviceable 70-74 F Short Block.
The crank pulley on the LV is rattling more every day so the key can’t be long for this world.
I would also take an early Short Block depending on price and location.
I’ll buy it from you if you can’t figure it out.
I think it’s a reverse light switch and bracket for a column shift 3 speed. It mounts to the steering box near the linkage.
A complete setup would be 2-3K, but your parts pile (disassembled, without gearbox) seems more like 1K to me. Driveshafts are hard to find, so look for all your parts.

It’s not impossible to connect a hand throttle to a newer carburetor; I have done it. You need a bracket on the primary butterfly shaft for the cable to pass through (and an adjustable barrel stop to sit behind it) and a cable anchor that holds...
According to Mark, the throttle knob/cable did attach to the carb up util 9/69....

Appreciate the input, but I respectfully disagree. Choke cable is a different symbol. I am 99% confident this is the original hand throttle cable for the truck. This era choke and throttle cables have molded knobs that cannot be separated from...
Hey, all!
I have about 3 or 4 hours of research into my cv axle replacement parts list. I've cross referenced several websites including ih8mud, clublexus and the facebook maintenance groups. If someone could spot check my work below, I'd...
The harness is restored and reinstalled.
Overall the harness was ok but a few new wires and a few new parts and it’s good as new.
Now the truck will start and stop with the key and will move under its own power. (I also installed an new...
I sold this truck about 10 years ago.
Before I did I moved the axles into my current LV and replaced them with rollers.
@wileycoyote ended up with it at some point according to the LV list but has since sold it again.
At this point I have no...
