What was wrong or what happened to the Gamiviti rack?
I've had his full length rack with my RTT on for over 7 years now and it's been awesome!
My only issues, and it's probably my fault is that I'm getting rust where I used SS hose clamps to...
Our president has a Cayenne and has taken it on a few runs, but nothing more than a 1. Switzerland Trail and a run we did through the pawnee. Its still bone stock. Its little wheels and tires were moving so fast with all that washboard. Oofta.. 😂
Yea, this is like the white collar folks who cos-played Harley riders in the 90s and 00s.
They definitely couldn't Scandinavian Flick their truck through a hair pin. Granted the GX(me) is awful at it. I usually induce drifting through lift off...
I installed new pads / rotors from NAPA on my GX460 and there is a slight grinding noise at low speeds ( I think it's just driver side ) that goes away as soon as I hit the brakes even just a little. Both rotors also developed this silver ring on...
The current president of our 4x4 club, a Jeep guy, traded his Jeep and just bought one of those Bronco Raptors last year. The very first run we all did as a club, he wouldn't take it on anything other than the fire road trail we were on. Albeit...
I've wheeled with one, it did well, only held back by the trailing arms. I would still consider one as a replacement for the GX if I sold it and magically had more money lol
I have a buddy with a 1st gen F150 Raptor and I try and make fun of him at least once a week for never going off roading with us. Different strokes lol.
My (general) comments are listed below:
1. $2200 is not a bad price for all new, OEM suspension parts. You can probably beat that price if you order the same parts from either a local Toyota dealer (many of whom have 15% off sales on holiday...
I'm getting there for smaller bolts, nuts, and washers. 😁
The hardware store near me is a smaller chain. Ohly a few locations in the region. It's priced well enough to avoid having to drive about an hour to home depot.
We have one of those too - it's an Ace franchise, but has been in business for 50+ years. I buy almost all of my Milwaukee tools from them, and occasionally get nuts/bolts when I need just one. They are about the same price as the big box...
I guess that's why they're probably more popular in CA. We have a lot of places you can destroy an almost $100k rig!
Also, per your mention of a GT3 RS, that's why I like Porsche's. They have one of the largest clubs in the U.S. (world?) and they...
I hope your cut line looks a whole lot better than the photo you posted of that black GX!
Remember to get a surform file to even out any highs or lows after the cut. The guy did have the right idea about using the trim molding.
Good luck!
This is the cut line i intend to imitate
I also got a bunch of barb fittings and shortened my air lines a bit. Used heat shrink over the hose clamps. I am neurotic and used two per. These will get thrown on the ground and in general treated like...
