Love the LED's in my rear bumper!
It's like daylight back there when I put it in reverse when it's dark. Helps a lot when viewing with the backup camera.
Do you have a compressor with you on your rig? If so, when you're in deeper snow, deflate your tires, you'll get a larger tire patch for going over the fluffy stuff.
Regarding welding, there's welding and then there's aluminum welding. Welding aluminum requires gas and usually a specific welder...
Welcome to the forum and congrat's on your ride!
Nice looking Montero! I've always lamented that there wasn't a better following of them compared to Toyota products. They were pretty cool.
The only issue I've had is having to rebuild my front Icon shocks about every few years or 15,000 miles at about $750.00 for both.
But I spend a lot of time off road too. If it was only on-road, they'd last much longer.
Ha-ha-ha! I have to laugh at your second line, "... I would say 90% of them would not make it to even 200k..."
We are SOoo spoiled with the reliability of Toyota's.
Most all U.S. and European vehicles would be LUCKY to get HALF that many miles out of the any part of the drive train! My...

I like to see fully boxed bumpers.
My 2 bit's (.25¢) worth (inflation, used to be .02¢) opinion.
There's lots of info about adding an additional cooler or replacing stock with a larger one on this forum. If you do an "Advanced Search" you'll find the threads.
But in short, in everything I've read it's a pretty easy install. Lots of room behind the front grill and plumbing is pretty easy...
As far as the layout platform of Jeeps, very short overhangs, both front and rear, high break over, relatively low CG, wheel base length, etc. they are about the most perfect platform one could have for off roading. Not even the old LC's can keep up with some of the stuff a Jeep can do, only...
Okay, first you have to STOP with the bacon! If you keep that up, I'll be needing a new keyboard from ALL the drool!!!
Second, thanks for your Navy service! 🫡
When we go up to Tahoe, we sometimes go to the Scheels in Reno, NV. Oh my GOSH! That place is crazy!
They have a full size Ferris wheel...
