Test fit the shift levers and it was a failure. Close, but not gonna work. I dog legged them over too far and it was just touching the body. Straightened out the bends and checked again, much better. Mocked up, tacked , and welded.
Don’t mind...
Found this in owners Manual folded up in my Dads 1985 FJ60 Cruiser. He bought it new and said the salesman said he had 10 on the lot and that Toyota make him buy like one for every 20 compact cars they buy. Only option was choice of 4 different...
Should fit close to here. Trouble is navigating the exhaust pipe/muffler and getting the swingarm fore/aft right.
Going to have to move some brake lines and fuel lines around the pipe too
Maybe the last two weekends… Drove from NYC to the Solid Axle Summit in Ouray, CO. Did some epic trails, hung out with some Mud legends and had a great time all around.

Ok, all fixed. Fortunately SAS9 is about 1 hour from Proffits Cruisers & they fixed me up with a good used fan motor. Was not a direct fit but took the ‘new’ motor out & put it in the old housing. All good now. The brushes AND the armature...
So I sold my fj62 back in February. Picture below.
It was a solid rig, I sold it and I regretted it.
Went through a few other Toyotas and I'm back in the club!

Needs a few things like power steering...

Got some small stuff accomplished for a 9 day trip to western Colorado coming up very very soon. Coupla roof rack mods, interior doo-dads, oil change, suspension bolt re-torque, that sort of thing.

Real nice upgrade in tone and volume. I went with the superior bass.

Oh boy. Went and did a thing.
Son went with me to just "check out" this sweet 1983 FJ60 that has been sitting for.. a while. Last registered in 2000, been on non-op since. But, as far as I can tell, it's also about the most rust free and no...

Stayed with some friends last night from Austin who moved up to the Hudson Valley. They have a gorgeous 40 and daily 200 series. Felt right at home parking in the driveway for the night. Plan is to ramble around Vermont, NH, and Maine for the...
We are officially entering Maine today. Had some epic camping and traveling through Vermont and New Hampshire. Dispersed camping in the green mountain natl forest never disappoints
