Hello from Philly,
I took a big gamble and picked up '98 land cruiser 100 series at an auction.
The rig was everything as expected, pretty bad shape and rusted. However not as bad as other North East trucks of that that age.
Looking to see if...
I fixed my straps with replacement elastic from Joann’s. Remove the entire panel and you’ll see how it attaches. If I recall correctly, the straps just fold and a fix to a card with staples. You’ll need to adjust the strap length to give you just...
When I unplug the shift interlock solenoid, it works fine. So I'll replace this and see if that's all I need.
For future reference, this is located under the center console, on the right side of the shifter, it's a white 5 pin connector.
Finally got around to lifting the old girl and getting her some new rims. Went with the 2" Iron Man Nitro lift (Medium springs + diff drop). Wheels are the SCS F5's on 285/75/16 KO2's.. I also have a SHW Offroad drawer system on order which I...
sorry to hear about this.
I would try to depress the shift lock override button. But you may need to remove the center console to make sure nothing came loose or moved out of adjustment underneath shifter area.
Just replaced my heater Ts and I'm glad I did because it didn't take much force to snap the base off one of the Ts; I did have to slice the hoses to the firewall but the others just twisted off.
I used the following part numbers.
96134-42100 x...
Thought of getting the valve covers powder-coated, but after using the rotary wire brush in an attempt to spruce it up, it turned out pretty good - came out clean and exposed the natural color of the aluminum material which I like the most. New...
Hello everybody!
I just registered but I have been reading through the threads almost daily since I bought my LC in May this year.
I should have read it before the purchase :))
It’s a completely stock UZJ from 99’ with a decent service...
Afternoon Mudders.
I wanted to put up a PSA on how I was able to return my door lock to working order.
I have had a 2000 LX470 in the family since 2004 (92k) and she’s been dead solid reliable (248.4k today)
I lent it out to a family member in...
So uh, not a 100 series, but for $1800 couldn't pass up this non-running 2UZ 2003 4Runner:
But wait a minute... Let's look closer here:
That's right:
Previous owner had it for 8 years, and one morning in winter started it up to warm up...
I had an oil change in Portland Oregon, a well known Ron Tonkin Toyota dealership. They forgot to put my engine oil cap back on. I found out then brought the truck back. They lost it. Ordered it and waited for a week. I’d do it myself.
The plate has smoked acrylic underneath but if your rig has the original green bulb that is what you’ll see at night.

Noticed the coolant reservoir was empty, lo and behold my radiator was ready to give up the ghost. In parallel discovered the recent clunking in the suspension. $600 later and she has a new radiator, hoses, and sway bar endlinks.
Original...
Filled it up with beach gear, passed 200k at some point while the wife was at the helm. Took a terrible picture 68 miles late from the passenger seat. A typical LC travel day 😎🍻
Tackling a new lawn this week.
I’ve towed more recently either my rig and it feels great. Nothing too heavy I don’t think but I barely notice 3,000 lbs ish other than a couple MPGs
Been sitting on this rack for a while, so I farmed out the labor to Toyota, in favor of time and potential headaches. OE part carries a warranty from installation date, dealer warranties their work, so I’ll take it. lt’s in there, driveway is...
replaced it. Took all of 1 minute to take the bracket out and 1 minute to put the whole thing back in. All working fine now. $75 for the part locally, though....
Progress continues. Top anti vibration cap printed, which doubles as a latching system.
This is the first large TPU (rubber) part I've printed. Weird feeling stuff to come off a printer!
One more part to go-- a TPU part for between the two...
Hello all.
This is Greta, my new to me 2000 HDJ 100 with 600.000 km (360 k miles) on the clock. The car is mostly ok with minimal rust and all parts functioning but it was somewhat neglected so it will need some TLC to bring it up to top shape...
Oh, and carefully cut and peel the old hoses. The fittings to the core are soft aluminum. Also, the clamp on the passenger side to the pipe that goes into the valley, yeah that clamp if not affixed will slide right on down under the plenum...
