I purchased a 1985 60 series that has 167K on it from the original owner from P.V.

I love the 4 spd trans and the old school manual choke too :)

He has too many cars and didnt want to spend anymore $$ on it. It was running way rich, power steering leak too, door handle broken, and a few other minor issues.

She is an ugly duckling but with some TLC and some help from other CSC'rs with parts I can give her a new life and make her good for another 15++ years. The body is rough but the record keeping (which I received just recently) and maintenance was phenomenal. There are no leaks except a power steering hose under this truck!

Replaced within the last 40K miles:

Clutch, rear main, ps pump rebuild, starter, radiator, alternator, wheel bearings repacked, f&r brakes, trunions /axle resealed and packed, all drivelines fluids changed, etc. A good base to work from.

No, there will be no body work on this rig (believe it!) except buffing some oxidized paint where there aren't dents (both sides - his kids took it out several times ). The focus will be on mechanically being in good working order and leaving the body as is.

Chk out the 6 point roll bar the PO installed
did I mention I hate y'all - I had wanted to check out that trail for a long time

 maybe I can persuade my flying colleague to make an impromptu landing on the strip :bounce:

I'll be there. See Phil's other thread about a full weekend of 4x4. John

Short strip but we could meet you there with cameras rolling.

I have seen a small plane land there and take of before :meh: - I am just not so confident this particular colleague would pull it off

[imagine Diego-style sunny guy 20 years my junior here]

I have been there when they are taking out the left over usable parts from one of those short landings that didnt work out too well Unless Diego has lots of insurane and promises a romantic dinner, just fly over and wiggle the wings for us.

Melissa and I are in! See you all there!!

I love it when a plan comes together.

Time to go wheelin!

See you guys at 8:30, first shakedown for my truck too!

Sweet - another 60. just remember to wait for me, I didnt get the fancy V8 conversion

Tell your Dad to get in, sit down, and hold on - were goin' for a ride! :steer:

Ill see if I can go find a inexpensive Cb to put in my ride before Sunday
