My ole BJ71 is being resurrected. : )

Oh, it's not mine although it once was. It now belongs to a local doctor who is having the shop restore it.

Curious,if you don't mind me asking. What's an injector pump rebuild cost?
In my case I don't think an injector pump rebuild will be necessary. I've either got a delivery valve issue or an injector problem.
Hopefully when I return to the U.S. on Friday, I'll know the verdict.

The next time you see an advertisement that states "rust in the usual places but easily repairable" remember this post.
This is the roof of my previously owned BJ71 and the symptoms of this damage was a
couple of insignificant paint bubbles.

There are also issues in the fender wells and the rocker area.

That seems like a strange place for rust. The fender wells must be Swiss cheese if the roof has holes already.
One of the reasons "recent" paint jobs, where the seller can't provide detailed "before and after" photos makes me nervous.

So very true, there are so many tragic stories of guys in the 40 series section buying eBay gems with fresh paint jobs or restorations. A complete resto should have somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 photos. I think I have over 700 of my fj40 restoration, but I can be a bit photo happy sometimes. Curious if anyone knows about the assembly process for 70 series bodies. I know the 40's were spot welded together without weld through primer. 35 yrs later and some road salt equals Swiss cheese. Hopefully the 70's were done differently.

Charles, thankfully we don't have to worry about that here.

BTW if you need any parts for the BJ71 I have a few parts left over from my build..............rust in the usual places, but repairable.
The old lady who owned the car before me only went to church and back, which was only a few miles up the road.

OPINION BOYS.....
I'm either going to change the canopy to match the black trim on the truck or the grey on the rims. What do you guys think?
