Whenever you are ready just let me know. The property is located between Dinuba and Visalia just past Bob Whiley near Monson Market. I work tomorrow until 6pm, if you have a trailor by then, we can head out there for sure!

I could use a trailor whenever one is available, whenever is best for you Cacy

I have my trailer at my house if you want to use it. I know Cacy's it at his inlaws up by Dan's.

If it's no trouble that sounds good to me

I'll give you a call as soon as I can grab one of my parents trucks

Step 1.

Here you go Talon. Give me a call Wednesday or Friday, and let me know if you would like an extra hand with the project.

Got the cab stripped and cleaned up today. And after a lot of head scratching i'm pretty sure it could be accomplished with 1...eventually haha. If I can find another cab but standard then it will go much easier and quicker. So if anyone knows of any standard 2nd gen pickup cabs being parted out let me know. Thanks

Why not keep the additional space you would get with using two nonstandrd cabs? I don't think you would get enough legroom with standard cabs.

I can get the leg room, but a standard cab will keep me from having to do a delete on that tall side window, and also keep me from having to fabricate and piece together half of the door jam. I've found a couple trucks getting parted out locally on craigslist but then they turned around and said i just want the whole truck gone. I'm not looking to buy a whole additional truck so i'm going to work with what i've got for now and see how it turns out

I like the way your photo chops looks, but had one little comment.

You may need to eliminate the strip between the doors, most four-doors these days just have a little bit of clearance where the doors come together. What hinges do you plan to use?

OTOH, my '57 Chevy does have a small piece there. The older cars were better made, but were they better designed?

I may end up doing that if needed, i'm just kind of winging it for now but i'm shooting for what the photoshop shows. I'm not sure what hinges i'm going to be using, going to try stock but would need to make a little pocked at the front of the jam where the fender would normally be

I would have to disagree with both statements. The older cars were not better made. Were the made of heavy steel, yes. But they didn't see the road miles that today's cars do. An old car would go 60,000 and need an engine rebuild, today's cars at 60,000 are just being broken in. Plus today's cars are much safer. Long gone are the days of a hood going though the windshield and decapitating the front seat occupants.

What about turning around the back cab so you have suicide doors? Can you photshop something like that to see what it would look like?

Like this? I dont care for this design, I think the regular 4 door would look better IMO.

YEah. Maybe if the back was more straight up and down rather than slanted so much.

I'm going to try for regular square doors using stock hinges and door latches for now. I'm leaving in a little more space between the doors because I want to keep as much support in that middle section as I can. I might even ad a reinforcement hoop over that section just for body, separate of any cage I put in later

Here's my cut plan I've already posted on marlin for anyone wondering:

what are you doing for the window in the door?

I'm going to try lexan or something like that
