I was in a friends Tacoma the other day and noticed that the aux. switches are the same size and shape as the ones in my new 100. I got digging around the net and found that the FJ Cruiser can use the Taco switches and had some info. I thought I'd try it out on the 100.

So, I ordered:

Tacoma fog light switch - 84160-04010
Connector - 90980-11090
Wires with ends (4) - 82998-12340

Total cost was $55. The wires and connector are options (and expensive - wires with ends were $4 ea.!), you could solder straight to the switch if you wanted, but they make splicing in very easy.

The Taco switch has two raised ridges that need to be filed off to fit. You could use an x-acto, I used a dremel. With them filed smooth the switch pops right into the blank on the 100 dash. It's also a lighted switch, which is a bonus.

For the wiring, in my pic with everything connected, from top to bottom it's:

- 12v from fog lights
- to relay
- 12v power for light in switch
- ground

Great. Thanks.

Are there any other original (looking) switches available that you know of?

yeah i have teh same switch, got it from slee when i was out there in augest. ver nice! Sub fuel tank switch is also avaliable, i also got that form christos shop

Wow! you are doing better than I am. Now what about a switch below the heater controls. There is one dead switch there.

I'm all over using OEM switches. In my 80 I used the power antenna switch and a rear defroster switch to arm my winch and do the in and out functions.

One big disappointment I have with the 100 is the lack of dash space for switches and other electrical equipment.

i donno, but i want the diff locker switch so that whole left side panel is filled with switches.

Good job, Monkey. I've been meaning to figure out which switch to use for my IPF's on the ARB and now I know. Thanks!

right in front of the seat heater switches you could put a good row of things in. i only have a switch for my rear camera there so i can use it whenever i want, but ive thought about putting more there.

Great install!

holy "diggin a dead thread up" batman...! :grinpimp:

and a good thing too...
Would that switch fit in other positions on the same panel? See pic where I have free space.
If anybody has found switches with other symbols or functions that fit, it would be nice to know.

Hey, can you order that rear foglight switch and ship it to us in the US? Maybe I need to ask CDan if he can source that as well.

I like the adjustable headlamps, like my old Mercedes Cosworth with the E-codes...

4Runner DAC (downhill ascent control)
L and R rear windows
400W Power Invertor
Rear Diff Lock for Tacos/FJ Cruisers

are the ones I can think of right off hand, I think there are a few more.

ATRAC I forgot that one!

Power Door Off and L and R from the Sienna.

Subtank

WHat is power heater and was the rear fog standard? I would like to have one of those for bad weather.
