So can we confirm the Friday roll out? Are we meeting at the I15/76 park and ride at 9AM? Is that group going through the crossing? I have a buddy coming along in his Ford Raptor. I don't think he will have any issues with the water but I wanted to let him know the plan.

The height may be exaggerated to force people around, I found another site that crossed in late June and said it was just over 30".

You are probably right, we have had little to no rain in ages.

The bypass option would be to head back to the 15 and head east to Basin Rd, south from there and link back up with the trail just east of Basin Mine. I'd say we check it out, send @elripster through it, and then the snorkel-less guys like myself can decide there. Last time we went there were some over-exaggerated reports of the depth of the crossing.

I'm thinking just get a 100 yard running start and hit the crossing with the skinny pedal pinned to the floor. Should be fine.

Ok... so the plan is still to roll out of San Diego county at the 915 time frame. All the research that I have found is that water crossing is about the 33" area so we should be good for the crossing. As for the first night of camping, I'm of the opinion we camp behind Hanks mountain, the purple spot. I do not know whom is coming in on Friday night or early on Saturday morning. Plus gives the opportunity for a quick town run if someone finds out they forgot something. As for stops the big ones are being requested so those we will stop at plus a few others I think will be cool. Saturdays potluck is still a go with only a few folks letting me know if your bring something. As for those staying on Sunday, you can get a hotel room or camp out again. Since we have our dog looks like we are doing a third night of camping. Looking forward to the trip and we will be taking lots of photos for maybe doing a story for Toyota Trails.

This is what Mike H. made up years ago for the members for frequencies used while wheeling.

Sounds like a good plan. My buddy might not make it or if so might try to catch up with us Saturday morning. It's funny, he gets down fire road so darn quick that he'd make day trip of the road if wanted to bad enough. I will pass on that map of the purple spot, looks easiest to find.

I have a snorkel, I can do that. So I just need to take the belt off my fan and disconnect my batteries (only need those to shut off the motor). Then after going through, just wait a few hours to connect power so my starter and alternator can dry out (they are not marine grade). Air out the inside so my carpet, seats and door panels dry out. Hopefully no electrical issues the rest of the trip...... OR go around. Hmmmmmmm

And drain and replace your diff fluids as soon as you get home! Don't worry I'll drive around with you AFTER we see these guys get through 😁

Been there done that a couple years ago, all was fine of course but no need to tempt fate just to say I drove through a couple (stagnent) puddles. I'll take videos though!!!

Diff breather extensions and RTV!

Or you can just let the lack of humidity dry you out...

Your rig is fine, the door seals are new and wont leak, we can just float you across, or maybe barrow Barney boat motor.

I'll just follow @flyingmonkey lead and do this... but seriously, I just saw a video posted of the crossing on sept 27th claiming 30". I'm good.
