I've searched everywhere here and not found what I'm looking for...

I replaced my diagram on the injection pump of my B diesel. Now when it starts I have to have to accelerator down to keep it running or it just idles to low and dies...
I'm unsure on how to properly adjust the idle on this and was hoping for any help. Or maybe I messed something up... hope not... everything on the diaphram went smoothly save the not properly starting issue....

There'll be a screw on the throttle body that is used to set the idle.. often when the diaphragm slowly fails this screw is wound right out to compensate for the high idle.. perhaps thats been done in your case and the screw needs to be readjusted..

that's kinda what I figured. I just became so frustrated with it I had to drop back and ask someone else's opinion. I appreciate the help and I'm going to try this tonight!

turns out the edic arm needed adjusted. after I did that and the injection timing it ran much better!

Just to follow up again. After my last comment it was idling good but the next day when I tried to drive it it wasn't moving under load it would die. I remembered I had adjusted the altitude compensator for some reason in the past. It turned out once I got that back to spec, it was perfect. For more info if you're having this problem I found it here: Injector pump leaking (78 BJ40)

Just because I'm glad I changed it even though there were no high idle issues, here's what my diaphragm looked like when removed.

Wasn't far off failing!
