So I am a purist. I have a JDM key for my 81 that looks like this:

Anyone know the OEM part number for the blank? I have found OEM blank part numbers for the standard Toyota keys but not these. Yes I know I can go to Lexus. Yes I know I can get one cut by a locksmith. But I want an OEM one.

Interested for an answer on this, I've got one of the Ilco blanks cut as a spare, but it's just not the same, lol.

I've got Dave from Japan4x4 on this. Will see what happens.

What I've found interesting so far is that the 90999-00xxx series part number for key blanks are available for most models except the 80...

Search for Keyfast near hamilton/Oakville Ontario.
If he is still around he can make keys from a picture via email, need to send a copy of ownership.
Think he charges $100.00 for two keys.

Alrighty so an update with this.

Talked to Dave in Japan and he says they will ONLY sell pre-cut keys to owners. That means a person in Japan has to give proof of ownership to a local dealer and go through the dealership route. Huge hassle.

What puzzles me is that you can get almost identical blanks from Lexus, 90999-00220.

Makes no sense.

HOWEVER. If someone desperately wants the "Land Cruiser" key you can get this lock set: 69005-6A260

This comes with all the door locks, new ignition cylinder and a new fancy "Toyota" lock for the rear hatch. It comes with 3 pre cut "Land Cruiser" fancy factory keys like I have posted in the first post.

I wonder how much that option would cost...I think I'll stick with my Ilco blank, lol.

Bought a lexus blank on eBay, brought to a local locksmith and bam, done!

So I bought my spare key from eBay and I was wondering why shipping was so silly. Now I know why.

Oh wow! That could have gone in an envelope FFS!

Just an FYI the key machine at my Lexus dealership has many settings. There is a Lexus and a Toyota long-shank setting. If the new Lexus key is trace cut in the Lexus setting it will not be correct. My first one was cut that way and would only work on my drivers door and ignition since those two are the most worn. I had it recut in the Toyota setting and it was perfect.

i know this is a really old thread but i'm reviving it in hopes someone has found an OEM part number for these keys?

you can get the full lock set still, but i cant find the key blanks anywhere. i really would like the Land Cruiser labeled key not the lexus one
