For SALE: This 1971 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 is an original hard top model, with a converted engine and transmission taken from a 1981 BJ40 (Toyota 2B engine with four speed transmission). This is all part of an extensive frame off restoration effort, stripped to bare metal custom paint job. Most of the OEM Parts and other high quality only upgrade parts were imported. There is meticulous detail involved in the restoration, from OEM stainless steel body bolts, body mount kits, new Old Man Emu Leafspring suspension with 2.5” lift (front Bilstein shocks, rear Rancho RS9000 XL shocks), American Racing Teflon Coated wheels, Imported Front and Rear front folding seats, ARB Bumpers and WARN M8000 Winch, among other many newly purchased parts. Also includes a full Line-X treated interior flooring for lifetime rust guarantee and added insulation.
Exterior has been painted with a custom colour with matte/satin high quality finish. All hardware and trim is either new or restored and the bumpers by ARB specific for FJ40. New weatherstrips for doors and windows are in place including complete window trimmings. An AC system was installed using suitable underdash AC Vent at same location as OEM AC (now discontinued). A/C runs cold!
The interior was completely restored with attention to detail. The steering column has been upgraded to a US made tiltable steering column specified for American HotRod cars with an industrial look, quality and feel suitable perfect for this utility truck.
The dash, steering wheel, instrument gauges (custom designed making it unique, by Autometer). Corbeau seats were purchased new and imported for front and rear fold and tumble version (all black leather). Brand new aluminum radiator also imported and installed last year. Yeti Cooler sitting on a customized rear rack is included. Spare tire also carries the same rims found on all four wheels. Extensive photos of the restoration/modification below show just how far the truck has come.
