Hi All, Long time lurker looking to make the plunge and get my first FJ40. More concerned with mechanical + frame condition than anything else. Looking to make it my around town cruising vehicle and address issues as they come up. Willing to pay for condition and even more so if someone has a BJ40 hidden away. Happy to work on shipping but if anyone has anything within a few hundred miles of Pittsburgh, that would be great. Also, have a beat up but awesome 1989 Toyota Pickup I could thrown in a a small partial trade if anyone is looking for a workhorse. Thanks! Matthew

**************SOLD***************** After owning this for more than a decade, it's time to pass my 40 on to someone else to enjoy :frown: This truck is in excellent shape mechanically, I would not hesitate to jump in it and drive anywhere today. Hi all, Note, the FJ has been SOLD. Well, the time has come to move my out my FJ. I just don't have the time to keep it going or get it in the shape I'd like, and it's not gonna get better with age. It's a total blast to drive, and I've learned a lot, and I hope to pick up another 40 at some point when I've got the garage space to do a full resto... though this is the perfect candidate for anyone with similar ambitions. I am on Jim's list for a soft top, and you can buy it from me if it ever materializes. Just a warning that if someone local buys it, they're going to have me checking in once in a while. I'll really miss this thing. I'm located near Santa Monica, CA. Here's the link...

Alot of work and patience has gone into building this truck right. Mechanically this truck is solid. PO spent all the money on aftermarket accessories and I finished it correctly where they left off. 1973 FJ40: Sacramento Ca
1973 FJ40 Landcruiser located in Sacramento Ca. Owned about two years. Bought it for something to work on (my hobby) and wheel… never really did any serious off-roading in it. I have had my fill and moving on to another project. I have spent the last two years fixing some sloppy work by the PO and driving it around town occasionally. Always kept in the garage. Body/Paint/Interior: Body is very straight, no rust. Paint is near perfect, very glossy and smooth. A few small paint chips, cracks, and runs. The only body panel that needs attention is the rear hatch which has a ding along the bottom edge. Top and headliner perfect. Glass is excellent, free of chips, cracks, etc. I replaced most all of the fasteners inside and out with...
Selling my 62 FJ40, not enough time to stay at it and enjoy it. My other projects have been suffering since I brought this old girl home. I’m in northeast PA about 35 minutes from Rausch Creek (and the former Paragon). It’s an all original 62 FJ40 with 44K on the clock. It will be state inspected later this week after my local exhaust guy replaces the muffler and tailpipe. It is registered and insured in PA and I have a clear title in my name. I bought this truck from a guy who had it for several years and kept it in a metal storage shed out of the weather. He told me he bought it from the second owner, in whose possession a tree limb had fallen on the roof at the driver side of the windshield area. The roof had (still has) slight...
Link to the Build: https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/240279-1977-fj40-w-vortec-4-3-4spd.html I've sold some items but most of it is still intact. I would sell the whole unit for $2,000.00 as is but would ask $800.00 additional for the wheels and tires. I bought this thing as a rolling chassis without the engine for $1,700.00. I've sold the Windshield, Softtop, dash switches, radiator, radiator support, dash pads, soft top, steering rod & box & Roll bar. I'd say around $2,000.00 in parts. I'm taking a HUGE loss on this thing, have around $15-18,000 in it in parts. Sorry but I can't take any less. I have the title in my name and can be transferred upon payment. The body is in good shape, all the major rust has been...
73 FJ40 Turbo Diesel
First off, I am not selling this, do not know the owner, and have only seen this LC from the outside for a couple of minutes. It was sitting in someone's front yard by a highway in northwest Montana as I drove by. I thought: "Someone on 'Mud might be interested in this." I saw it on Montana Hwy 206, just south of Columbia Falls, MT, on Saturday, September, 1, 2012. 2nd: I'm an 80 guy, not a 40 guy. And this is 3 hours north of me. BUT, I am willing to do anything I can to help anyone on 'Mud out, including going back up there. 3rd: These are large photos if you click on them, but still just a fraction of full rez. If you are interested in the full rez shots, let me know and I'll get you a link. Here is all I know:
Hello all, New to these forums and new to cruisers. I have always wanted one and I am considering purchasing the one in the link below. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FJ40-/320964001555?forcev4exp=true#ht_1324wt_1165 I put a small deposit down on it for the seller to hold it until I have a chance to look at it. Any advice or caveats? What kinds of questions should I ask the seller? What should I be looking for (in terms of potential pitfalls or dealbreakers)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
