HI GENTS, I am going to try and sell this project for about what I have into it $ wise. If it does not sell I will finish it but time has been slim with school in full swing and if I can move the project for near what I have into it $ wise then that is fine. Basically someone will be getting a rust free cruiser and getting all the hard work (metal and engine work) I have done in the past couple years for free. In my opinion this is a great opportunity for someone to pickup a project that with a little money and time will be become an $18-$25k cruiser. Again, all the rust has been completely cut out and replaced. I have spent many hours doing this quality metal work. I have all new parts for the vehicle. It is best for someone...
1981 Blue FJ40 Central Texas
Asking $12,500 This is a great running and very desirable later year 40. I have owned this one for about 6 yrs. I have done all the work on this 40 and it has been done right. Mechanically this 40 is very sound, it has 32x11.50 Bridgestone Dueler tires. It also has a black bestop soft top and doors as well as a bikini top. NO hard top or doors. I have replaced the front floor pans and a few rust spots in the rear floor. There was some rust in the rear quarters that was repaired before it was painted and I bought the cruiser. After repairing the floor I bed lined the interior. It was done a few years ago. The clear coat on the hood and front fenders has been flaking as well. In the last few years I have: Rebuilt and resealed the...

76 FJ40 Feedback
Brand new to the group and request some feedback from you guys that obviously know what you are talking about. I just picked this up on eBay and got some additional pictures after the sale. I see a lot of gloss black and red which may be covering some things up. Seller says there is no rust at all on this vehicle. Do you see any need for concern?
Not mine, but interested in making it mine:bounce: http://r.ebay.com/anGvBL Can the experts chime in? I like it for a rolling restoration. Lots of pics and a video in the link on ebay. Obvious things I see wrong: - Rear sill is toast (easy fix) - bottom of ambulance doors need love - possible quarter panel replacement - curious what the two green toggle buttons are on the dash - video of engine running / driving sounds really rough - obvious lean towards drivers side (will new suspension correct this or is it a sign of a different problem?) The engine concerns me the most. I think the rust can be dealt with. Tub doesn't even look that bad. From the shots of the undercarriage, the frame looks to be in fantastic...
1976 fj40 - 3fe
My wife purchased this 40 last summer from a long-time forum member to have as a second FJ40 in the household. Unfortunately its just not getting the use we envisioned so we are going to pass it along to someone else to enjoy. Below is the original sale posting from last year which contains details regarding the truck's past with links documenting many of the upgrades. https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj40-bj40/613816-1976-fj40.html?highlight=3FE We have only put roughly 1,000 street only miles on the truck in the last 15 months so it is basically in the same configuration as purchased (soft top is currently installed) This is not a show truck as there is rust in a number of places on the tub. It has a 3FE conversion that starts...
Had to sell my lifelong baby last year to replace the family car. Can't take seeing it drive around town knowing I don't have one anymore. Would like to find one close to what it was, 76+ SBC 350, stock 4 speed. The year doesn't matter as long is it is 76 or later, body condition isn't too much of a factor I rebuilt my old one just months before having to part with it. Not looking for a huge price tag on it as I use my cruisers, and from time to time abuse it a little. I am located in western Montana willing to travel for the right rig. Let me know what you have or know of. Thanks for reading any info is greatly appreciated. My old Fj40 was my first rig and I am going Crazy not having one!
'79 FJ40 Buggy "Pancho" in Houston
Serious inquiries only. Price FIRM. Please email me at info@1911-grips.com with questions. Up for sale with 16' car hauler trailer for $7000, without trailer for $6500. Street legal, but it needs an inspection. Safety only, no smog required. It has a new Interstate battery, and I have a new (used) radiator that I'm going to install b/c the current one has a pinhole leak. I bought this from fj40tom about 5 years ago. It has its share of rust, but those that have been on the trails with it know that it runs circles around rigs that cost three times as much. About as capable as it gets for rocks/offroad for an JF40. Features: stock 2F Inline-6 motor stock carb stock intake manifold aftermarket 6-to-1 header...
I bought this just under a year ago on eBay with the intention of keeping it for the long-haul. Unexpected financial commitments and time have forced me to sell. My loss is your gain. Recently upgraded to 4 wheel disc brakes and aluminum radiator. Major improvement over the stock drum brakes. Apparently, the previous owner told me there was over $32K invested. The work that was completed on this rig was done around 2008 and listed below: -Body was taken down to bare metal, sandblasted, primed and professionally painted a beautiful forest green. Paint is in good condition for being 5 years old. -Frame was sandblasted and painted -A full rebuilt custom Chevy 350 V8 -New Automatic Transmission with Lokar shifter -Aftermarket...

1978 fj40 - socal ca 92082
The time has come to sell the FJ40. It is a 1978 Model with current CA tags and Smog etc. It has some rust around the rear section under the doors but apart from that is rust free and very honest. Paint is mostly original with the front RHS Guard having been sprayed at some time. It comes with a full hard top and doors etc but is currently in soft top config with just a bikini top. It has rear jump seats and new front recovers in factory style. Tyres are BFG KM2 in a 31x10.5 on factory rims. Suspension is full OME and has about 1500 miles on both it and the tyres. Brakes have about 1000 miles on them and it stops on a dime. Everything works and it drives like most stock 40 series with a 2F. Only issues I am aware of are: -...

1963 FJ40 Factory Soft Top $3500 [ID]
1963 FJ40 Factory Soft Top [ID] SOLD! THIS IS A 1962 SOLD IN 1963. VIN 2FJ40 15401 According to the FJ25 Forum experts, the '2' ahead of the FJ40 indicates the year of manufacture was 1962. After too many years of just keeping it running, but never making the time to fix it properly, I’ve decided to sell our FJ40. It’s located in Boise, Id. Runs, drives, stops, but needs work to be roadworthy. No working lights, missing turn signals, will include a wiring harness from a 60’s LV and turn signal switch assembly. The tires hold air, but that’s about it. Have a set of early hubcaps that are included. Original straight six, with new water pump and big window single barrel carb. The transmission was a side-shift 3 speed...
Looking for a FJ40 in original condition with a hardtop. I'm looking for a good package that has the parts needed for restoration. I'm a nerdy purist that prefers the original engine. I've wanted to restore a car since I was a teenager. I even spent a year in a tech college to learn how to do all the body work. Then I started having health problems, but I was recently cured after 13 years. Now it's time to start living :) I've been reading threads on this forum for the past 6 months. I know you guys will give great advice and steer me in the right direction. Thank you in advance for all the tips and help. P.S. A classic should be bought, restored, driven until the wheels fall off, then the owner should be buried in...
