LS Swap

This is the way with highly customized vehicles. Then you actually use them for things may be out of your engineering realm. Things break and leak.

Mine is currently down waiting for me to make a return line from my sm465 to the Orion. Oh yeah and something is squealing pretty bad, I think it’s the throw out bearing. So I guess it’s time to pull the transmission and Tcase anyways. The wife is getting impatient…

I get depressed when my 40 is down.

I get depressed when my 40 is down.
Not gonna lie- I’m missing it right now. Life ebbs and flows. Sometimes there time to work on it sometimes there’s not. The important thing is that it’s a pleasure vehicle- I’ll fix it on my schedule. Thankfully, it’s not my daily.

Anyone out there that is running an LS and has functioning cruise control? I'd love to have cruise control to avoid getting speeding tickets (got my 1st one in over 20 years the other day), but I'm also running my stock '71 steering column, and the wiring harness for the LS was custom made. So I'm not sure if/how cruise control could be wired, and what could be done for some type of control knob or button could be rigged up?

Thoughts & suggestions?

And yes yes, before someone says it, I know... just don't speed. But cruise control would also come in handy if I took the 40 on a long trip.

Something I hadn't thought about is that with the LS swap and adding A/C, I won't need all the stock dash knobs. I can see it both ways... Keep the dash original and have some un-used 'dummy' knobs, or remove them and fill the holes and clean up the dash some so it doesn't look as full / busy. I'd like to hear what you guys think and did.

Also, where did you mount your A/C controls?

Thanks.

Has anyone done an LS swap on an FJ40 running their OEM steering column and wheel and have cruise control? If so, care to share how you did it and maybe share some pics and/or video?
