Howdy, long time lurker on the site. It's a great site. I sold my 76 Bronco (my baby) 5 years ago and I cuss myself daily for doing so. Winters are long here in WY and I need a project to work on. I've never had an FJ40 and I'm looking to purchase one in the near future. Many friends have them and I've been impressed. I'd be willing to spend up to 10k. I'm in no rush whatsoever. I do not plan to restore and sell but rather I want a rig I can work on and keep forever. This will not be used for hardcore rock crawling. . . I plan to use it mostly for getting me to places to hunt and fish. So it will spend quite a bit of time on dirt. I don't know much about the FJ40's but I'm looking to rolling up my sleeves and diving in. Any advice...

1978 FJ40, original paint, OME lift, Wyoming, $23,500
We just finished this '78 and she sure is nice. She is a born and raised, dry Wyoming truck. She has sat for the last 10+ years as the clutch went out and never got fixed. With a little time, money and patience she has grown to be quite the eye catcher. Here's what was done. Original paint had a 3 stage 3M cut and polish Rear sill rust was cut and replaced Rear quater rust on both sides was cut out and replaced and blended New- front seat upholstery, headliner, OEM dash pad, door weatherstripping, mirrors, bumper, bumperettes, antenna, clutch and hood pads. All of the fluids were changed New OME lift with greasable shackles and pin kit. 5 New Toyo Open Country M/T tires (33x10.50x15) Undercarriage was completely...
1969 FJ40, 90% restored, Wyoming, $13K
I bought this truck a couple of months ago and I've given up it trying to find the remaining parts. The truck was restored about 5 years ago and the man that started it got ill and was put in a home. It got put in a storage container where it has sat unfinished for all of those years. The dirtbag that sold it to me told me "Everything is there to finish it". Bully poooooy it was. So, I have sourced and put everything back together except the front seats and the door glass and front glass(yes, I know it is flat and I can have it cut), but, the glass shops around here don't want to fool with it without patterns. I have also been looking for a good front seat, but since I live in boonies and the closest cruiser head is 1.2 million...
I'm looking to find a 76-78 FJ40. I would like to find something with original paint, very minimal rust and without metal repair, clean underside. Not looking for a show queen, but nice looking and mechanically solid. Trying to stay between 15-30k depending on condition. As original as possible as far as engine, etc, not too much lift and definitely an american truck. It can be anywhere in the country as I know it is hard to find a good one rust wise out here. Thank y'all for your help

FJ40 in North Carolina
I have for sale a 1966 FJ40, with OME suspension and a winch. It has been driven very little since my husband bought it several years ago. Before that, it spent its days as a service vehicle at a hunting club, so the mileage is low. Part of the rear bumper was torn away from the vehicle when a trailer caught the bumper corner. It has a flat front tire and a part on the wheel that needs to be fixed in order to drive it, so you probably need to tow it away. Otherwise, very cool vehicle. $8,000
FS: 1973 FJ40 Project in North Alabama
Located in Cullman, AL. Message me for more details with your cell and I'll call you as it's a bit of a long story. I have the top and doors off of the blue FJ pictured (from TX). They are pristine. I have a very good tub (also from TX) that I had new quarters and a rear sill put in by a body shop that's an FJ enthusiast, former Gas Monkey employee, and mud member as well. He also primed the tub and sprayed the inside with bed liner. The 1F motor I sent out and had professionally rebuilt (have receipts). It's on a stand in the garage. I essentially have the red and blue and primered FJ pictured along with a ton of parts. I have two transmissions and two transfer cases. I have a spare motor that needs rebuilt. I have a FJ40Jim Carb...
Hope you're all doing well. So a couple years ago I purchased a 64 fst 40 with the intentions of restoring it. It's a tub and rolling frame. I purchased it from an individual who used it as a donor vehicle for his restoration. Over time I collected a number of parts for it. I purchased the correct windshield frame, a 2f engine (needs to have the head rebuilt), split bench seat, etc. Unfortunately, a move is forcing me to sell without getting a chance to get anything done. I have the title for the rig. I'm looking to get 4500 for it. If you guys are interested, please let me know I'm attaching a link with pictured I took for you to see. It currently sits in the same shape. My second 40
