I've lurked on this website a long time, but just registered. I recently saw a member recommend to another member to post what they're looking for so I thought I would give it a try, too. With the boss at home's permission I'd like to get my first FJ40 before I get too old to enjoy it and my kids get too old not to have memories of it as adults.
I'm in central Missouri and there's just not much that comes up on Craigslist. What does come up locally is either a picked over, non-running disaster held together by flakes of rust or a garage queen modded out the wazoo, both of which are overpriced. I'm not sure if there's an "FJ40 buying season", but maybe this is it and I should bide my time...

looking for a frame with title and both VIN plates for a project. Needs to be in southern California near 92583. it would help if it rolls but i guess i could drag it onto a trailer.

Good evening ladies and gents! The PO of my FJ40 replaced the rear sill on mine and it no longer has the hook to latch the spare tire carrier too. I am curious if anyone has one of these? I have that actual carrier.

I’ve had this 40 for the last 7 years and have done a lot of upgrades to be more user friendly. For the first 3 years it was my daily driver and never let me down. I have done the work myself, with other Land cruiser enthusiastists, or farmed out to Land cruiser specialists.

Desmogged 2F engine from early 80’s fj60, with weber carb, new plugs and wires, fluid heat riser, JTO headers, new starter, new radiator, hoses, belts, pilot bearing, rear main seal, clutch, upgraded to 4 speed transmission with vacuum shift 3 speed transfer case, t-case saver, custom front drive shaft (to accommodate for the 4 speed)...

I finally finished my frame off restoration which took two years with a little time off here and there. I am looking forward to my next project. That is why I am sad to say I am putting my girl up for sale. I imported this beautiful Fj45 from Australia approximately three years ago. Only drove it around the block once or twice then dove into it. Total tear down, bead blasted the frame then powder coated. All axles torn down new seals and bearings with all new transfer case seals . I had the body acid dipped primed and painted. I added a brand new bed from Awl TEQ (as seen here on Mudd Forum). I assembled the bed and I must say it turned out fantastic, thanks to Awl_TEQ craftsmanship. :cheers: Pretty much stock except for front shackle...

This is one of the best FJ40´s available in the USA. Recently professionally restored and like new, it has a solid frame and body with no rust, a rebuilt motor, a professional 4¨ lift with coil over shocks, upgraded disc brakes up front, new power steering system, wide aluminum wheels, 35¨ x 15¨ tires, and a custom roll cage. The body looks great and features a beautiful metallic green paint job, custom fiberglass fender flares, side body armor and half doors. It has only 85,000 miles on the original drivetrain (Odometer reads 28,850 kilometers), and is up to date on ALL maintenance.
The original F-2, 4.2 liter six cylinder gas motor has been rebuilt, runs perfectly and has lots of power. The original 4 speed transmission shifts...
