Well, I hope I get this one for sure, just waiting on the paperwork.

Its been a long time coming and I have had numerious people on mud look at FJ55s for me and thank them for that.

So heres crossing my fingers and it all goes well and I will be picking it up next week.

Plans are as I have always stated, diesel, possible cable lockers, heated seats for the wifey, not quite a frame off. Possible SVO conversion( still not sure due to the acid which eats parts).

Comes with a solid v-8 for conversion, not sure what to do with that?

Clarify for those of us short in acronyms?

If it weren't for the license plate, I'd almost say you were raiding mine:lol: VERY good start on a rig.

WVO sorry, waste veggie oil.

Thanks, its now residing in the North West.

Coming out of the south west, what's the roof gutter area like? The color looks very close to mine too!

They told me surface only, came from southern Cali, hot and drie they claim.

Bad is the one corner by the tailight is pushed in a bit, gonna take some work to get those body lines back, might be worth looking for a corner and welding it in?

Lady said she did not want it in the rain and has tarped it for me until I get it.

We will see.

Not sure yet what colour it will be when done.

Bonus.................. winch.

That really sounds like mine with the pushed in taillight corner... although mine is below the reflector mark.

What year is it?

1971 I believe.

Key will be on the left dash right?

Upper tailight and bottom right reflector have some damage.

Nice........very nice. God I hate being jealous all the time. Congrats you lucky blankity blank, Dave

Its gonna se some light trail use, mostly dailey drive up to the ski hill and head out with the VI Cruisers on the island.

For now clean it up make it look and drive well with a diesel, headliner, rubber, body work, paint . It has to be reasonable enough for the kids and wife to jump in and out of, so for now maybe a small lift, no soa (mind you that might change).

Most of the work will be done at my house, back yard booty fab style.

Engine?, 1hz, 12ht h55 or auto? Basically I will see what I can find both of these engines are good candidates.

Can't wait to see how an LC shop reconstructs a
What's the LC drivetrain lineup gonna be? DD/ trail rig or both?
Tires/ wheels? Any body mods or armor planned?

Been thier many times, thanks.

The '55 shell we got was from the LA area and it had rust perforation around the roof gutter area which is why I did the roof swap.

Just shot the owner a email asking for some better pics of the roof rust.

Thanks
Rob

Maybe my situation was unique but I found that the southern trucks rust from the top down and the northern trucks rust from the bottom up. We had a truck from North Dakota and a shell from LA to make ours.

You hit the nail right thier, I have looked for years and the best candidate is still in the mud archives, it was a blue white 55 from Arizona.

It had nothing more than surface rust , I hesitated and lost the truck to another cruiser head.

was that the one i was selling radd? very little if any rust. Todd has it now and calls it pigwald, he has great pics of it all stipped down with clean shiny rust free steel.

BTW, looks like you scored a great pig.

No, I don't think so?

Its some lady from Kali who was gifted the truck by the original owner.

And thanks, I hope its as good as it looks, very excited.

Got to love the curtains.

Looks nice. Looking forward to the build.

Thanks Trollhole, it wil be fun building a for me first ever cruiser.

My dream rig will have cruiser coils front and back, four link and three link with quick disconnect sway bars. Comfy front seats with headrest entertainment for the kids, power windows all around(ya I know its kinda gey) heated seats and as mentioned a WVO system maybe.

I want it to ride like a 80 series and perform likewise, coils and links just seem like fun.

You know the frame dimensions of the 55 are almost exactly the same as an HZJ77, if you can find a deal on a mine truck you might be able to knock out the 1HZ and front coils in one shot ;-)

Congrats on the sweet pig!
