Hi all,

I finally took ownership of a brand new set of sliders from MetalTech, (Thanks again "LT") and what better way to introduce myself here to everyone on this board. So I've been reading and posting a little now but I really didn't get a chance to introduce my rig yet. Well here it is, we reside in Gilroy Ca. I got into the landcruiser scene after seeing my buddies cruiser in his garage. I had to sell a tacoma I had in order to purchase this rig. It wasn't a very hard decision as the baby seat was getting hard to put in the back of the tacoma. So after seeing my buddies rig and him turning me on this board , I completely forgot about the tacoma.

I chose to buy sliders first for my first real mod after we spoke to Alvaro and after joining him on the "no snow run" sometime back. I took my stock rig and it got pretty bent up. I bent the side steps and the tail pipe to say the least.

So without further a due here is some eye candy!

One of the pictures shows the back of my toyota prius with the metaltech sliders. I went to pick them up from the freight company the day they arrived. I just couldn't wait:D

comments are always welcome:cheers:

So the install was a real challenge not because I didn't know what I was doing but because I did it by myself. I used two jack stands and one jack, 2 hours later I was done. Oh I had to put on some safety glasses because I had tons of sand from our last pismo trip. I think the hardest part of this install was trying to keep my mouth shut so that I wouldn't get sand in it. All in all it was a fairly easy and quick install.

looks great! So is the crusier lifted? i can't tell from the pics, How long did it take to get them after you ordered? I'm looking at the Metal techs for the next step and am starting my homework.

Tires so big, your dog can walk under it!

weirdbeard:
No, the truck is not lifted. They send the sliders on monday and i got them on wednesday by noon to San Jose CA.

Your rig looks awesome and the sliders don't spoil the picture at all. Did you get a new paint lately?
BTW - Gilroy, CA... US 101, garlic and factory outlets, right? ;)

How much do the bars on the sliders stick out? I have been wondering if it would be possible to step on them to reach the roof or not.

I haven't paid much attention on ho much the sliders stick out, I'll snap a picture and post it.

Yes Gilroy is garlic and factory outlet's for all who enjoy to shop a little.

Got mine as well

I got mine on Friday and installed them on Sunday. It took me considerably longer doing by myself, about 4 hours with 2 jack stands and a floor jack. Most of that time was figuring out how to move the brake lines and aligning the holes for the cat side. One got cross threaded and is still empty for the time being. I second the dirt in the eye a bunch fell down from behind the brake lines when I bent them away from the frame. I ended up bendind the tabs back and cut off the frame mounted plastic tab and zipped tied the plastic against the U-bolt. What did you do about the brake lines?

I basically bent the brake lines a tad just enough to clear the u bolt

That's a sharp looking rig, black LC's look awesome but I may be a bit biased ;)

What do those sliders weigh?

Salue

- Metal Tech has become my choice of slider when the $$ come in
- Nice black Cruiser - looks good altogether
- Prius and a Cruiser - commendable balance
- Eat something with garlic in it for me
