I have seen them on the OZ ebay site. Its just eBay.au.com

Yup they're definitively 70 series mirrors. those are the mirrors I'm replacing for my 60 soon they actualy look really nice.

What exactly did they break? Did the break the housing or just the mirror. If they just broke the glass mirror part you can have it cut and installed at most glass places.

Are these 70 series mirrors a direct bolt on to a 60? Are they cheaper than the Aussie mirrors, not the cheap knock offs?

If these are cheaper and bolt directly, I think there would be some available from our Canadian brothers that are parting out their rigs. Has anybody looked into this yet?

WARNING: The 70 series mirrors do NOT bolt on a 60 series truck. Ask Michael at www.westcoastcruisers.com for details-he has pictures up on the site. The base for 60 series is different than for 70 series.
cheers,
Jan

The 70 series mirrors I have on both my '85 and '86 FJ60s were bolt-ons. It was as simple as removing the screws from the base of the FJ60 mirrors, setting the 70 series mirrors on the door, and twisting the screws back in. A 2 minute job.

It is true that the mirror base between the 60 and 70 series differ and in installing a 70 series mirror you'll have a small gap between the mirror base and door.

The 70 series mirrors are such an improvement over the myopic 60 series that I can easily overlook the small gap. 70 series are stable at highway speeds and give an good rearward view if you're pulling a trailer. the ones I have were take-offs from Canadian mine trucks.

Godwin - Thanks for the good info. I don't see the gap you mention in Post #1 pics. Do you have photos? Can this be shimmed if sombody like me is too anal to live with the gap?;)

yah you could use a black sealant.

The fit of the 70 series mirrors onto a 60 is good enough for me.

Check the diesel/jdm parts classified section on here. TLCruiserman has some for sale. with the pictures of the fit.

Man been gone for the day and you guys really pick up my problem
Personally i love the fit of the mirrors and their is no problem with the gap .I did not seal the gap and never had a problem with mud setting in there or rust. Only thing that i can think of is the driver side mirror is the magnified one.And yes the mirror broke at the base so no fix for that. And thank you for all the healp:)

I can't get pics for a couple of days. If you look at the 3rd pic posted in the 1st post you can see the gap. The thick rubber gasket on the mirror base covers up a lot of the gap but there is still a very small space between the gasket and door skin.

If you want I'll trade you two good condition stock mirros for the one that you have.

Dynosoar :zilla:

what does Cdan want for them? one of my friends broke one of mine this weekend, and hes replacing them. :)

While not cheap, the manual FJ62 mirrors are a huge upgrade and available brand new from CruiserDan. One of the best mods to my 60-I can actually see behind me. They are roughly the same size and shape of the 70 series mirrors, except they fit perfectly, and are hinged to fold dlat against the body if needed.

Do the 70 series mirrors not fold in like the 62 mirrors? I like the black on the 70 series but would rather paint foldable 62 mirrors.
