Picked up a late production 40 Kayline top and doors..... but doors look,,,well...I cant figure them out. The seller insisted they came off a 40, but the hinge points are top and bottom, rather than mid and lower line OEM doors

Thanks friends for your help

Post up some pics? Show us what ya got?

do they have snaps long the front? older kayline doors needed to be snaped along the front ....on the tub and windshield frame

DING>>>DING>>>DING !!! We have a winner.

That is exactually what I have...for a while i was thinking I had a HEEP top.

So.... Where do you put the snaps on the body?? do I have to drill holes ???? (thats not going to happen)

AND where does the door mount to? ( top and bottom)

I just happen to have a set of old frames....I might just have the material swapped over

Chris, if you didn't like the first answer [to the snaps] you're REALLY not going to like the answer to the second. The lower hinge point consists of DRILLING a 1/2" hole IN THE ROCKER PANEL and letting the rod FLOAT in it, since the majority of the weight of the door hangs off the snaps.

This really is a relic of a dark era in the history of soft tops that those of us old enough to remember would like to forget about.:censor:

Hey Mark..

Man, what the #%*& were they thinking??? they really wanted you to drill all those holes??

The top and doors I picked look great....and the price was as good...Well, I have a set of old besttop frame I almost tossed a couple weeks ago...Ill have to run all this down to the local stitch-it shop and see if they cant meld the two

Thanks for info
