**CLOSED** I found the rig I was looking for.

My 15 year old son and I are going to build him a rig to drive to high school. I have done this before and really do not want to get in to a long term rust battle (again ). I do not care about the engine or interior. I can replace those. Need a solid rig to start with. I have up to $10k to spend, but that would be a rust free, nice interior, good driver. I am located in central VA.

My truck is SOLD! 9/2/12

I have one that I am about to list. It is a very nice, rust free TX truck. Nice rig. $8900.

If you send me your email, I can send you the glamour shots (pics).

My high school son doesn't car about it - can you imagine? So instead, he will get an average car when he turns 16!

My email is my username (above) at gmail.com

I couldn't have imagined a cruiser in high school. Actually, even wishing for a car at all was pushing it! Oh well, hope he enjoys the scooter you should get him:)

A build with your 15 year old. This is the stuff that makes you cruiserheads so great!

How much for the Porsche  GLWS

I'm all about building cars with my kids, I will buy them all a car when they are 10 and go completely through it with them and hand them the keys when they turn 16. I think it teaches them more respect for the vehicle and gives them more ownership. The 2F keeps them from going too fast as well.

Just picked up a 78 FJ40 for my son and will now be selling my rust free 62 for $1300. I don't think you should buy it though. If you have 10k to work with, but something low mileage!

Your rig is a possibility. I can get it to the SE for about $1000 in transport. $2300 to start and a rust free rig is worth considering. I can tell what I need to do to the body, and I am planning on either an engine rebuild or swap. Do you have any other pictures? I need to see everything I need to replace or fix. Please show any rust underneath if there is any. I need to see interior and any info on what electronics are not working would help. Windows, locks, antenna, A/C, etc.. Hmmm... Thanks.

Hey man, I sent you a PM back.... call me so I can talk you out of it :)... Here is a video of the rig. It has a HOLE in the engine block. I have a local source on a good engine for $900 but it really depends on what you want to do with it. I have other interested parties as well, but no one has yet to pull the trigger.

Bump

Still looking for a rust free FJ62. Anything from a serious project rig to an excellent daily driver. I just don't want another rust bucket project.

FJ62

I have this one, but not anything really to work on if you are looking for a project. Could always do a diesel swap :) Here's a pic. Interior is even nicer!

How much for this one? Send me a PM with price. Thanks.

I have this Rig. It's not 100% rust free but thought I'd give you another option. Just bought another daily driver after child #3 and looking for free up come $$. Hate to see it go. Let me know if you'd like more details.

these pics are from a couple of years ago but will give you a good idea. Have done about 2,000 in fixes and upgrades since these pics were taken including repairing the front main seal leak last year.

Thanks,

Found it

I found the rig I was looking for and have made the purchase. Thanks for all the options.
