Interested in trading my '76 FJ40 (virtually rust free) for your 600 and say $1500 ... cash negotiable. Will be commuting 3 hours to work soon and can't very well drive the LC there!

Nice ride. Wish I was closer.

wrong coast....

You guys might check into uship.com - I just had a huge truck camper delivered halfway across the country for $250 via this site. I might be able to help a bit with transpo costs...

It would have to be able to be smogged in CA, how does it run and is all the emissions equipment in place and functionng properly?

All of the emissions equipment is there and functioning properly. It really needs a tune-up and a carb rebuild. It is currently our only operational vehicle right now so I drive it everywhere. :steer: It is running rich though, that's why I'm recommending the carb kit and tune-up. Backfires pretty good when you let off the throttle too quick to shift.

Did you see the pics? Click on my username and go to my only album of you'd like to see it.

Lemmie know,

I can drive it there for you, my wife and i are going to ca in a week or so...all you would have to pay is fuel.

Dumb question but what mileage do these things get when running properly? I wish it was a 75 or earlier so it woul dbe smog exempt here in CA!
around 15 mpg's....you should do it, they smog easy enough, you just lean out the carb, and if the hydrocarbons are to high you run full synthetic oil. Synthetic burns at a much higher temp, and lowers your hydrocarbons.

Hey mp_cude where do you live? I really appreciate your being willing to help. I need all the help I can get right now.

Let me chew on it a bit and get back to you.

Yes the '40 is still available but I need more cash. If it was an XR650R (water cooled, aluminum frame) then I'd be all over it. However, I think I'm going to have to pass. Thanks for the interest. Sounds like a great bike though.
