I have a york on the garage floor. It was siezed so I pulled it apart. It has a broken rod. Is it worth rebuilding this thing? Rest looks ok. I'm thinking it needs new rod and caps on the one piston. Is there any reasonable part sources? thanks

They can be rebuilt, but not worth it in my opinion.
Pick up another your local junkyard and put it in. You can check for air pressure pretty easily turning by hand so the risk of getting a bad one is minimal. I don't know about your area, but the local pick n pull here in california is having a half price day this weekend so that means York compressors should be less than $15 bucks. I doubt you can repair yours for that price.

Yeah.. that's what I figured. $15 bucks can't be beat. I need to find some yards locally that's let me wander in the yard.

that's a heck of a deal, I have payed $50 ish for my last 4, but that is still cheaper than a rebuilt unit in the $250 range. I have yet to have one go bad, but I do keep them oiled.
